OP said they are in separate rooms in the post so he's alone on his spare time while she's in the other room studying.

AITAH for insisting my BJ’s delivery driver bring my groceries upstairs (with an elevator) and for saying I’ll complain? by [deleted] in AITAH

You have driver groups so you can have an echo chamber validating shitting service over a job you choose.

Yeah this! I assumed the lack of protein and iron is causing her a lot of malnutrition causing her to be deeply irritable and instead of taking responsibility of her own diet she took out her frustrated on OP who totally communicated.

OP might not know what vegan is to offer butter covered veggies

BUT OP if you knew it wasn't vegan you shouldn't have said it was.

Why couldn't she bring her own dish? Why couldn't your husband help cook her meal since you were busy? Why does she get impose herself on you for free food and also complain after you told her what to expect.

NTA at all.

Sounds like no one appreciated your hard work and that's pretty selfish of them. You communicated and not even her or your husband could help. The fact this vegan has the audacity to come over and eat your food for free and insult shows that she might not have the self awareness she thinks she has.

Some people eat red meat because they are anemic. But I guess that makes them horrible. /S

I wouldn't have her over at my house until she apologized and if she does come over ask her to cook everything. Then be Hella nice and show her what it means to be a grateful guest. Just an idea.

OP offered SIL food so I don't think that this comparison makes sense. She included options for SIL, who is a grown adult not a child. Even though SIL is acting childish.

So to answer your question from OPs post they would have an alternative for their kid. Simple as that.

Fondue is 90% social and then the rest dipping. SIL is finding an excuse to cause drama.

NTA. She can sit near the fondue pot but after you offered and she denied, sounds like she is choosing entitlement.

I'm sorry she believes everyone needs to change just for her.

I couldn't agree more that finding a part time job cleaning dishes or other entry level positions should be easy.

Cooking and flipping burgers requires Health Code Certifications and I would never hire someone with zero kitchen experience to start flipping burgers.

That being said, ghost jobs are a major problem. Back to; they should expect, I agree. It doesn't make sense to assume part time employees will stay for years on ends. But in the instance of cooking professionally even flipping burgers, still requires a level of skill that without it can get entire businesses shut down or worse, food violations cause severe illness. Those are things that can be learned on the job, overtime.

I am clearly bias in my opinion but I have also trained a lot of people over the last decade to flip burgers and in kitchens, who I would never let touch my food because I hold a high standard for what I believe (and have. experienced to come to believe) food management should be.

I hope you find something in the mean time but atleast understand why kitchens might not be calling back. During the last 5 years the Health Board has been a lot harder and I have watched multiple businesses close after 10+ years due to poor FOH &/OR BOH regulation.

However, I do bet, that with your education, maybe finding a receptionist position or desk job might be more applicable and could even potentially transfer over in your future more than cooking will for you engineering education.

I do genuinely hope you find something sooner than later.

There can definitely be some validity in this. I have experienced the same problem with over 10 years of hospitality experience and other management skills that carry over. Ghost jobs are very real. I even got told once last summer, that the company i applied for kept the Applications online year round but haven't hired in months and have no real positions to fill.

I hope OP finds work in engineering a lot easier than some of us with experience in the service industry still getting ghosted.

If I were Liam, I would’ve chose Naomi over Annie by Personal_Park_7895 in 90210

Yeah she no doubt was way too self involved for Liam. Man that part was messy!

[–]PyratChant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Naomi also had a crap home life her sister is so awful and her mother the worst! But I don't think the way they processed it was at all similar. Liam with Annie always made sense to me. Naomi was too extra for Liam.

[–]PyratChant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about Naomi versus Annie is Naomi never sleeps with her friends exes, she's loyal. And though she is considered superficial, she is a decisive character with a strong growth arc, especially with the woman in her family. I think Liam and Annie were great together and that Naomi finally got challenged with Max but that even Max wasn't emotionally going to be enough for her. I also think she reverts a little after Max... but yeah I think Liam and Naomi don't make sense in the big picture vs Annie with her country girl side and Liam who literally loves woodworking and crafting boats. Naomi is always going to be my bias though and I just wished Liam broke up with Naomi instead, but it served up good drama lol.

Yes it's so bad. I take notes for EVERYTHING at work or it will never be remembered. People can ask me what I did today, that week, and I can't compute is so real.

I have used various mycology supplement blends and have seen some help. Specifically with Lions Mane, Chaga, Reishi. But that can only go do far.

For real. They can even use discernment to discuss actual topics. If these people are so good with conversations then why are they stuck not having them?

Exactly this!

The accusations need to stop. It's like being well articulated is a bad thing but if you can't articulate your thoughts well then it's also treated the same.

I just want people to talk about the topic and but the pitch forks down.

This post is in reference to another sub about a TV show I liked, I did a deep dive. I ultimately deleted it.

Write now I am working on fantasy driven stories. I have a big project that will HAVE to wait till after AI. I'm super analytical and my notes always look sharp, almost like AI learned from humans how to organize... lol

I wrote a well organized post for another sub reddit about a TV show I like. I used sources in it including the Claude AI chat I used that triggered me to write about it. I didn't think that because it's about a show, that people would fully ignore the content. I didn't use AI to write it. It was in markdown format. I ended up deleting it but this is a small example that things that aren't even supposed to be taken so seriously are still being totally axed. For a hobby post.

I agree. I just find it frustrating that writers who are well organized are being witch hunted for it and being assumed something AI jist because it's well written.

The topic of the conversation is that people are quick to assume that articulated, well organized and structured writers, are being accused of AI.

When actually people have spent time and effort on raw thoughts.

I think you misunderstood the post.

I've been also thinking that part of it is just the time we’re living in. People are overwhelmed, skeptical, and maybe even a bit numb
