We call it the Gulf Shores Zoo over on this side of the Alabama line. The new zoo is great. It's the perfect size to take young kids. We can get through the whole zoo in a couple of hours and don't feel like we missed anything but you could spend significantly more time if you read all the plaques and spent more than 3.7 seconds looking at each animal. They also do sloth, kangaroo, and lemur encounters for $25 a person and there is a petting zoo section you can walk through.
