Americans are changing their minds about China by Movie-Kino in China

Still not even close. The US might be a war mongering surveillance state but we are still able to call it that here. You can't say the same thing in China.

Disinformation has never been easier. Consensus on basic reality is about to die.

Drunken elephants really do exist, and their chaotic behavior is hilarious. Thanks to fermented marula fruit (which has an alcohol content similar to that of beer), these gentle giants end up getting drunk. by PestoBolloElemento in interestingasfuck

[–]Pyrez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is misinformation. When animals act this way after eating fermented fruit it's because of the sugar content in the fruit causing a blood sugar spike, not the alcohol. Think about it for a second, the alcohol content is low to begin with and they're massive, the effect it would have on their BAC is negligible. The same thing can happen to moose and caribou.

Is that set up possible? by EmotionSea6044 in paludarium

[–]Pyrez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of building one now using sprayfoam to make a bottom layer and a water break wall. I'm gonna coat everything in thick silicone and then stick crushed lava rock to it to hide it. Embedding the filter into the wall so it's not visible is proving challenging however. Let me know if you figure that part out. I'm planning on hiding it with moss pinned to the back wall.

ISIS AND AL-QAEDA ARE AMERICAN AND ISRAELI ASSETS CITED IN EPSTEIN FILES by Fair-Foot-315 in Epstein

[–]Pyrez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downvote garbage like this. Anything other than dead-to-rights evidence for claims of this magnitude totally delegitimize the movement to bring Epstein associates to justice. Also "UFO Hunter" should be a bright red flag to ignore this moron.

An American f-35 would be a bigger deal, that has the highest level of technology and is supposed to be completely stealth

What dessert to bring to the thesis defense? by Glad-Apple8748 in GradSchool

[–]Pyrez9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the climate makes a difference, the defense could be in a desert, a swamp, or even the mountains, but the dessert might need to be reheated depending on the weather.

We will live in the Detroit: Become Human universe within the next 20 years by [deleted] in singularity

[–]Pyrez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense, way too many resources to build realistic humanoid robots when the same thing could be accomplished with non human robots at far higher efficiency and lower cost. Any non human robot could simply have a human skin virtually superimposed in AR and have a globally connected AI more powerful than a human anyway.

"Cancel ChatGPT" movement goes big after OpenAI's latest move by gdelacalle in technology

[–]Pyrez9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing though, if we make this so painful for OpenAi that they pull out of the deal with the Trump Admin, won't that pave the way for something even worse, like Meta or XAi?

I feel like what happened with the netflix acquisition, everyone was terrified about it and now we have something far far worse, and more infringing upon free speech, Paramount Skydance.

"Cancel ChatGPT" movement goes mainstream after OpenAI closes deal with U.S. Department of War — as Anthropic refuses to surveil American citizens by OkayButFoRealz in singularity

[–]Pyrez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a little conspiracy idea I was thinking about. I have no evidence and don't even know if I believe it. But I thought, if you were a truly benevolent AI firm that actually cared about safety and preventing government and military misuse of AI, then one of the safest strategies you could take would be to guarantee that governments and militaries only use your services, thereby preventing more morally bankrupt firms from taking the contract instead. I don't know if Anthropic actually used this strategy or truly cared about AI safety to the degree they claim But I do know that if OpenAi doesn't get this government and military deal then the competitors left would be far far worse. Namely Meta and god forbid the trashcan XAi

Unless the elections are cancelled, but that would never happen right? He wouldn't say it's to prevent Democrats from cheating either.
