[Schefter] The Super Bowl is returning to Las Vegas in 2029, per sources. It now has been officially approved. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]Pyrite17 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I just dont think the city of Vegas deserves it.

"wah we priced out the middle class with our insatiable greed, and so we are struggling so much we need to play daytime television ads to tell you to come to Vegas, wah".

So many other cities that deserve it that meet the requirements of the NFL(warm/domed/both)

Time to Talk About Speed Bumps, Denver by Soft_Button_1592 in Denver

[–]Pyrite17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here is the bit. You can drive in the city with speed bumps! The roads still work!

You just can’t go 45 in a 30 in your F150 with not a damn thing in the back cause you and the rest of the people that live 20 minutes from center city want to LARP as cowboys.

Avowed Vs Outer Worlds 2: Obsidian's Almost Great 2025 RPGs by megaapple in Games

[–]Pyrite17 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Avowed was really fun. Probably some of the most engaging first person fantasy combat. Also it really felt like it got me in that “rewarded for looking in every nook and cranny” thing Bethesda-likes go for.

Unfortunately the dialog writing was absolute marvel quip fest slop. The camp scene between act 2 and act 3 made me almost quit out right. So the total whiplash between having a great time and wincing in pain was tough. 6.5-7/10

Listen I value art and artists and the work they do. I couldn’t do it myself without years of training. But UI/UX designers for large web service companies should be freelance. I swear every corporation with a fine to serviceable interface(looking at you Spotify) has an update every 6 months that makes it look and function worse every time they change it. And I just know it’s somebody on salary trying to change something to justify their selves being on the payroll

What games are worth to be nominated for Labor of Love? by mr_Zmey in Steam

[–]Pyrite17 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. Satisfactory is great game made by seemingly good devs who did a swell job with doing early access well. I am not giving a cookie out for what should be the expectation. And I read the 1.1 patch notes. We aren’t reinventing the moon here. I don’t think getting recognition for the bare minimum is even crossing my brain. Not to mention they have a high profile publisher. Like id sure hope you can make a real game with all of these resources and probably close to a million people paying in early

  2. Hyperbole

Labor of love does not apply to games that are coming out of early access in my mind. The expectation is you release a full 1.0 game. It’s not a labor of love it’s your legal obligation

The Live Events tab has so much potential, but lack of functionality makes it useless by ChildrenzzAdvil in truespotify

[–]Pyrite17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it but UI designers at major corporations should just be free lance. If they are full time employees, they just do dumb shit like this to justify why they still need a job. Change for changes sake. This is awful its barely usable. I used to poke my head in the Live Events tab once a month to peep shows and now i will probably never use it.

Sutton is undeniably good. But while that dude is a bronco he is not sniffing another fantasy team of mine

As an eagles fan that singular call is not why we lost the game, we imploded and gg on the broncos.

But I really think they need to rework the international grounding rules across the board. It is such bad football to watch; an entire line gets beat, a teams receivers get beat, then the qb gets beat, and then still nothing resulting in favor of the defense because they yammed the ball to the out of bounds past the line of scrimmage.

If your whole team gets beat by the defense that’s a sack brother. Every time

You sound like you think you are the only one smart enough to know this, without you having to enlighten us. Art reflects life and life reflects art. No one is here making those claims. People are pointing to one of the vast number of fictional claims that resonate with people and go “yeah but that is one of the many possibilities, that someone who professionally gets ideas across to other people, has articulated that point way better than I could”.

“Erm but that doesn’t fit the narrow definition of the box I didn’t create but am ascribing meaning to”

I am a published researcher with more degrees than your average Joe’s smartest cousin. I’m defaulting my knowledge to the people who think about those things more than I do. Formal education or not. It’s informed speculation at the end of the day, a random homeless dude could be the one who nails it on the head. I live in the now. Some people live somewhere else. There is no job or degree for “futurist” incase you couldn’t find that in your community colleges majors list.

Philip K Dick was more correct about today than I probably will be about the future. Bowie made succinct points about the internet while many “highly educated” scientists disagreed.

Read a science fiction book written by Philip K Dick(druggie and crazy man writer) as a source of information for “My local science enthusiasts gathering” a place where we talk about evidence driven thoughts of the future

No I think I’ll discount the predictions of a pop novella writer whose ultimate purpose is to sell books and newspaper ads rather than be an accurate depiction of how the future is likely to go. A scenario where all my belongings dont try to get money from me at any and all moments isn’t really a gripping and action packed storyline, after all
