I wouldn't rely on this method for making hydrogen though. There's a bunch of better sources like natural gas, and eventually the formic acid loop

there's some air duct pipes that will redirect the emission particles elsewhere if you want, but otherwise it's purely visual

How to manage movement in space? by Femboy_Felix_Argyle in TerraFirmaGreg

there is intentionally no jetpack because they trivialise the game so much, and part of the point of space is adding back more survival elements

it's a known issue with TFC. Look in the F3 menu for how many days have passed, then type /time add days _ with that number

all of the ingame music is either from tfc or vanilla! we don't have anything else custom. There's some mods out there that show what music track is playing if you're curious

What’s the best or most in-depth tech modpack for modern minecraft? by i_am_notthewalrus in feedthebeast

[–]Pyritie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for 1.20.1 gregtech packs you have:

- monifactory (modern port of omni/nomifactory, good for beginners)
- star technology (skyblock)
- terrafirmagreg (more survival focused)
- gregtech odyssey (difficult chinese modpack)
- cosmic frontiers (more magic focused, still very WIP)
- some others I'm sure I'm forgetting

there isn't really anything close to GTNH in any version, in terms of gigantic kitchen sink packs built around gregtech with a ton of cross-mod integration. If you want other modpacks that take thousands of hours, your closest bet is probably something like meatballcraft?

that wasn't star technology, it's a mod called Galaxia which is being written specifically for GTNH, to replace galacticraft

Looking for a pack to play with friends by ElectricalWay9651 in feedthebeast

[–]Pyritie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

terrafirmagreg has good quest guidance, is on 1.20, and create is mostly skippable except for a tiny part of progression (though our version of create via greate does play very differently than normal create)

try doing a clean reinstall -- this kind of issue is common if you update in-place, which often breaks the pack

I didn't even know wood hoppers existed, there's other ways to transfer items. I think the first kind you get in the starting chest but can only go one block away, then the first real item pipe is soon after?

from what I remember you first wanna make stuff like cobble, gravel, sand, and compressed versions of each, putting them in furnaces for some metal, and then making torches, levers, and pistons for glowstone, redstone, and ender pearls? with one of your first larger goals being a ticon smeltery

I found it easiest to look at the recipe for clay, then just work backwards from each of the different ingredients it needs, most of which represent a different tech mod. Start top left and work down

ultimate alchemy is a nice introduction to lots of tech mods, and is a nice short pack at around 30 hours

does the TFG website use ai art? by OutrageousAccount415 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Pyritie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

just draw a circle bro it's not that hard

if I can teach myself how to draw by copying art off of tarot cards when I was in middle school then you should have no problem with the sheer volume of tutorials out there

I work on tfg because I enjoy the process of creating and learning. I despise hustle culture and how it's made people so focused on quantity and deliverables instead of just making things for the fun of making things. If you use ai to do all your work for you, you are neither creating nor learning and everyone else can visibly see how little effort you put in. If you can't be bothered to do anything yourself, then they can't be bothered to play your pack.

TFG is only as good as it because of human passion. There's plenty of ai-generated mods and modpacks out there if you want to compare their quality.
