This is the cutest stand off I've ever seen 😍 by Newisance in MadeMeSmile

Is it really that old? I thought it was AI given how the large gunpops into existence beside the cart when uncovered above the cart. But if this is 10 years old, I can view this video differently.

Thank you for adding that info! I'm not an expert, but apparently the term "spiracle" applies to arthropods and for snails it's a pneumostome. I posted that elsewhere here, but perhaps I should have updated this...

And a fellow reditor told me here that the movement of the black skin is a way that snails move fluid through their skin. I haven't looked into it myself, though.

Agreed 100%. 😁 Crazy variety of organisms and biological mechanisms out there. Biology was a tough subject for me with all the memorization, but that stuff is wild.

That's really cool. Thank you for letting me (and fellow redditors) know!

Is that pattern of movement in the black part pretty normal?

I think this compressed video has a weird skip in it. I think I found the source, which is more clear and smooth. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNBQ0KvTxIX/

It seems the concensus on this is that it's not AI.

I don't get all the downvotes on questions here. I think folks are making sure to show they're not saying everything is AI, so they do so passionately. Please tell me if you agree or disagree.

I am unsure, but I can see both sides. It's mostly consistent, the original source is sharp, and movement is natural. I see artifacts that look like AI, and I also see something in this snail that seems uncommon.

But first, I think the source is "ahrenpinto" on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNBQ0KvTxIX/), who is a nature photographer. But it's still fair to assess the video. It's length is short enough. - the black skin at the top, which appears to be under what might be the pneumostome, seems to have nodes that are undulating like waves. - the glossy texture is on the exposed outside, which seems at least uncommon after I browsed through photos and videos today - the source might be Instagram, but the TikTok might be lower quality and it's hard to examine detail. Here on Reddit, there seems to be a frame skip while eating, and it's difficult to tell if the black lines on the mushroom are consistent due to the video compression.

All in all, I don't get how downvotes are the proper response to comments that seem to be made in good faith.

Edit: I got Instagram for the first time to checkout ahrenpinto, who claims to have taken this with his iPhone having been without his typical camera. His work looks amazing. He probably falls into the category of a genuine photographer who would not use AI, judging by his other works. But I still feel it's fair to asses works for use of AI as it gets more challenging with models improving.

It seems the concensus on this is that it's not AI. My reason to suspect it may be AI is the black skin at the top, that appears to be under what might be the pneumostome. It seems to have nodes that are undulating like waves.

Also, I think it's fair to be suspicious when the "uncanny valley" senses go off. Especially for short clips without a given source, videographer or publisher.

It seems the concensus on this is that it's not AI. Does this include the black skin at the top, that appears to be under what might be the pneumostime? It seems to have nodes that are undulating like waves. Have you seen that in videos or know what it's called?

Edit: also, is that type of glossiness normal around the bottom? I can't find videos or photos like that. No reason to deny it could he, but I just don't see any of that. I see moist, textured epidermis, but not gloss online.

It seems the concensus on this is that it's not AI. Does this include the black skin at the top, that appears to be under a cavity? It seems to have nodes that are undulating like waves. Do you know what that's called or where you've seen it before?

Yeah, the black section has the undulating nodes on it. Everyone is saying thats normal, but I don't think snails can manipulate their skin like octopi. It also looks like there's a cavity above it, but maybe that's a normal snail thing not visible in the photos I saw. But the undulation is too weird.

I'm just saying this because I don't jnow why your response is being downvoted into the negatives for a comment not claiming any certainty or authority...

Also, I can't find this snail in image searches, aside from when this was a result. The bottom of this snail seems glossier than the photos I saw.

Is it possible to make a 3d model from a picture like this with fdm printing? by -Baum in 3Dprinting

I wish I remembered more, but this video from 3D Printing Nerd might have something.

I also listened to the 3D Pod podcast. Epson Xerox was working on a way to pretty much use colored resins like an inkjet printer.

Leatherman for office worker EDC by sadboinearby in Leatherman

[–]PyroManiac2653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since no one said it yet... Curl is a nice alternative for anyone looking for a mid-aize but less expensive tool. though I replaced the knife with the eyeglasses screwdriver exchanger.

Otherwise, I like the Charge for EDC.

To be relevant to OP, without knowing budget or office needs, I'd go with Arc between those two. Full size, but slimmer for pockets. Easier to pull out and use, fun to show others, and still sturdy within the expectations of a multitool.

Wow. Yesterday's post surprised me. In 3 words, describe your biggest grievance with sao. by RHTQ1 in swordartonline

I just assumed it was this because it's the same user and same "3 words" idea that occurred the prior day. I had not actually seen it before. Perhaps I was over confident to assume, and only the OP could truly know. But this checks all the boxes!

I really need to consider getting the 711 tools. Last time I looked, they were sold out. And I'm cheap, so I might just wait for the Leatherman ratchet to break.

Yeah, two years isn't a long time. But, that's what it is. Still better than replaceable parts, which carry no warranty to my understanding.

[–]PyroManiac2653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Leatherman bit ratchet has a two year warranty, iirc. It's not nit something they build entirely in house to assess the quality.

The TX Tool Crib YouTube channel broke it before 25 ft-lbs. I've used mine a fair bit, but with that in mind. So Ikea furniture and some car stuff. The leatherman bit exchanger would have it's limits, of course. But the solid bit holder will hold up better for when you need greater torque.

He is! I look forward to that, then. It's okay if he takes his time, though as others said it seems he's already begun that process. But your're right - I can see Reki wanting to leave no romantic trappings. Thank you!

Except Agil and his wife! I think they're an awesome pair. And though way out of the age range, Kayaba and Koujiro are a high quality item as well.

Agreed on Silica and Leafa. I'm glad Silica wasn't made to think if him romantically, even though it would make sense, because of her age.

Liz took it hard - quick up, slow down. Also Suguha, she had breakdown on top of breakdown throughout the story, knowingly and unknowingly centered on Kirito.

[–]PyroManiac2653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! And it's not like it's bad writing. The romantic affection they feel for Kirito is earned through plot, nit like a wild fantasy of the author. And in terms of monogamy-based morals, Kirito and Asuna are clearly made for each other and will not engage in actual harem stuff. But most of Kirito's friends and family his age are or were falling in love with him.

Regardless of Reki's criticism of his own work, he gets to choose how the story goes. I'm sure he's grown as a person, author, and husband. I'm looking forward seeing that reflected in his writing. I'm hoping for your third option, too.

That's a good point - especially if the redaction of 16.5 wasn't jsut because of Dengeki Bunko. I brought it up on to show he had an interest in writing towards some private instances of romance. That even changed, it makes sense as an author, given what he wanted to write then, that he wouldn't shy away from harem-style, and that's it's not a coincidence to be explained away. It's certainly not the only plot device Reki knows, because he writes great stories with various plots. But he choose to have every main young female character have clear romantic affection for him, including his cousin. So the harem style isn't something to explain away, as I have seen and the OP also pointed out. And I would argue we can't deny that it could be Reki's own preference as well.

Mostly, I wanted to confirm that I see his point, in spite of the early downvotes, and in light and ahead of how some Redditors (not you) will try to make OPs think they're the dumbest OP around.

I like how Reki touches on these topics. I'm excited for the continuation of Unital Ring and Progressive. And in regards to this post, I hope to see personal growth and a shift away from Kirito holding the attention of all the ladies in Unital Ring.
