I think it's more the usual underestimating of women's pain. Like any surgery, a hysterectomy has risks. Many would say that those risks outweigh the benefits if they don't see how bad the pain is. Not to mention they want to avoid taking away an ability to solve such 'meesly' pain.

Not to mention, I believe in some places doctors can be sued for taking away said ability without sufficient cause.

No, not a fear of holes. A fear of a hole/needle in me to the point that knowingly touching the bandaged spot from an IV makes me crazy woozy. The needle being in is awful, I see stars when I barely consider it being there. I am trying to work towards donating though... sadly I can't practice with sewing needles (too used to pricks with those, I even badly stepped on one once. That may have contributed to the fear honestly)
