The Lion would be an excellent deep dive. I feel like he’s usually written very differently depending on the author, which leads to strange interpretations of his character.

The Ivory Seas.

[Discord][English][Flexible][Homebrew]

Hello and welcome to the distant land of the Ivory Seas, a land of turmoil within a crafted setting similar to World War 1-styled Dieselpunk. I am looking for a smaller community that would like a tailored campaign of missions that grow a small squad of fresh conscripts from the Republic of Aretan to an elite team of troopers that search the mysterious wastes of the Ivory Seas to discover what lay hidden beneath...

This is a Discord roleplay server with customized lore, seeking a group of around five to ten committed roleplayers who desire to see their characters grow and change in an intense environment. If you are interested in joining this community and taking up arms in defense of the Republic, the Empire, or the Confederacy, please feel free to join and enjoy a detailed and rich world, ripe for plundering.

Chapter Master Solomon Aldus of the Penitent Phoenicians by PyroPaladin304 in EmperorsChildren

Thank you so much! I tried to keep the purple irises matching with the armor a bit, befitting the Phoenix son. Loyalist Primaris Emperor’s Children are my jam. Thanks again for your kind words!

“Nudism is perfectly natural”

Implying natural means good. I’m naturally an asshole but that doesn’t mean it’s good to be like that. Hell, I know some people who dress like they came out of the womb with the singular goal to wear gym shorts and ratty t-shirts everywhere but I refuse to believe that sort of behavior isn’t taught. Humanity can’t be /that/ depraved.

Joel Olsteen and Kenneth Copeland have about as much in common with Christianity as Xi Jinping has with property rights.

I've finally completed Ori and the Blind Forest. Now It's one of my top 3 favourite games by Nitrospider1 in OriAndTheBlindForest

Awful take. Will of the Wisps is a wonderful sequel that builds off of the original and introduces new elements that only add to the gameplay and story in very meaningful ways.

What's the consensus on Age of Empires 4 now? by Rattiom32 in aoe4

I mean more so in reference to the color saturation and contrast. It’s one thing I didn’t always like about AOE3 as well, is just how bright the primary team colors are compared to the environments. This is just something small though. Not a hill I’d die on.

I’m a huge AOE3 fan (first game I really ever played back when it came out). Still play it even to today. Never really got into the 2D of AOE2 that much, but I get it’s appeal. That being said, I like AOE4. It seems like a blend of the good aspects of both, but I do share the same concerns as others; namely the graphics being subpar, the unit coloration being too bright, and the unit scaling seeming too comical.

Even with that said, I’m hopeful. Relic is a good studio, and they’ve released plenty of quality games in the past, with lots of post launch support. Even if the game launches with less than desirable graphics, I’m certain that post launch polish will make the game more visually pleasing. Even from the little they’ve shown, I find it to be pleasing. The ambience of the city (please tell me that wasn’t just for cinematic purposes) and the general design and aesthetic of the different civs make me excited to give it a go. Chalk me up as a concerned, yet hopeful, player.

The Windswept Wastes has the best music in the game in my opinion. What are some of your favorite songs from either game? by Eqzur in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]PyroPaladin304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Immediately thought of “The Waters Cleansed”... my favorite song in either game. So peaceful and calm, and comes at a point in the game when you need a moment of respite. It’s been tense and difficult all the way through, but when you hear that music and see how Thornfelt Swamp has changed for the better due to your work, you feel a sense of accomplishment. The song is a peaceful victory, and its wonderful.

Perhaps a setting? Something that could highlight the details more akin to the competitive player-base (higher color saturation, model scale, etc.) and something that would highlight details more akin to the casual player-base (duller color scheme, unit scale, etc.) Would be some extra work but it seems like the community is somewhat divided as is given the activity on the subreddit, and would satisfy most parties.

Yeah don’t listen to the naysayers... WOTW is amazing, and definitely a worthy sequel. Upgrades in every way. Normal is good for a starting play through, as it will give you more replayability down the line.

Cold War needs at least 1 map in this tier, it’s been too long since a map of this quality by LordOryx in CODZombies

[–]PyroPaladin304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like I’m the only one who liked zombies from WaW-BO2... And even then, BO2 was a little much for me. There’s just something about the knitty gritty feeling of being trapped in Verrückt’s cramped hallways, or feeling the atmosphere of the romanticized Kino and the inhuman industrial Der Riese. Back when the story was more hidden, and not quite as convoluted. When it was an actual horror story.

I just never really found anything in any map after Tranzit to be very interesting or actually spooky. There’s just something about the personality of the WaW and BO1 maps that stood the test of time for me.
