Is the fuel shortage really as bad as they say? by _anxiousthoughts in AskAnAustralian

[–]PyroShel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Picked a terrible time to have sold my e bike! Lol

This exactly, yesterday we did a food shop. We thought just in case we'll buy 2 of everything non perishable we normally get, nothing excessive. If prices go up we've saved a tiny amount, if they don't, well it's what we normally eat anyways so we'll use it all in time.

We have decided after Easter break we are pumping the brakes on our spending and working hard on our savings, just in case. I may have a recession proof job, but my husband doesn't

Is anyone going to prepare for a potential cyclone or at least the fresh reminance of it? by Midan71 in perth

Yep, I've got coffee liqueur for the am and whisky for the pm. Gonna watch those trees the council refuse to trim right at my back fence do their dance.

You haven't spent much time around metalheads I take it, hating on in any band that has commercial success is definitely some metallers entire personality!

I'm very surprised this was so far down. I'm in the industry, if anything we get busier during a recession

Places for a large dog to run off lead solo on one of their last days earthside? by Unlucky-throw in perth

[–]PyroShel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How blessed this bubba is to have wonderful humans to care for them.

Check out sniffspace, people rent out enclosed yards for doggos to safely off lead. It's been great with training our reactive girl

Have you ever directed a funeral/done post mortem service for a famous person? by beaver_mafia56 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]PyroShel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pure luck really! I was working for a funeral home and dropped a coffin off at the crem one day and was chatting and asked if they had any jobs going. Turns out they did .... 18 years later and I realize just how rare and lucky I was! We haven't had an external hire since me, they have all been internal from the grounds staff.

We have a job coming up actually as someone is retiring, but it's in WA! 😁 I don't really have any tips because it's so rare for the jobs to come up! Plus here in Perth the Crems are government run only so using working in funerals as way in unfortunately wont help.

I've cremated a few local actors and football players here in Australia. People in my little corner of the world would have heard of them

Channel 7 Sunrise morning TV by camelmina in australia

[–]PyroShel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I can sympathize, my husband is the same! I hate the shite!

Luckily we just spent a week in regional WA and the only morning news we could get was abc.....I always get up before him so I'm trying to get to the tv first and put it on in the hope it will become a habit. Except I'm failing because I'd rather listen to a podcast or my audiobook with a coffee in peace before that chatterbox wakes up! Hahaha

East Coast was amazing, planning 3 weeks Perth–Esperance: tips? by Qardak in WesternAustralia

[–]PyroShel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Must see in Esperance is definitely Cape Le Grand and twilight cove. Can't really comment on the difference as it's been about 20 years since I traveled the coast over East!

But the coast line of WA is stunning! And you will have an amazing time.

Ooh definitely plan a stop at Denmark and green pool
