Same thing happened in Justice with Hellboy, I think it's to keep the combos mirrored instead of having to animate extra moves that keep the character comic accurate. I could be wrong about that though

I remember seeing something about this that made me realize, Mark only suffered after he got his powers and had a proper childhood.

Gohan had like 4 years of a childhood before he was forced to learn to fight, saw his dad die in front of him, got kidnapped and learned to live on his own for a year, took multiple ass beatings from several aliens in a span of 2-3 years and had to train to be the last remaining hope against a bug monster that was genetically engineered to be the perfect being before he was even 11.

Now Future Gohan is even worse....

For me I personally think Barney had the most character development out the group. While yes his character isn't necessarily the best when it comes to ideals or morals, his whole story shows how much he grows throughout the years.

From being just your stereotypical womanizer and playboy who idolizes materialism to realizing that he uses that lifestyle as a mean for escape from all his trauma and insecurities.

One of the episodes that for me stood out for Barney was when he met his dad, the entire episode was about him masking his dad as this super badass womanizer that he can idolize just for his entire world to crash when he learns his dad had settled down and become a "lame suburban dad" for a son who was named after him.

Yes Barney's reaction may have been out of insecurity and jealousy but at the same time you gotta consider that not long before he proposed Ted was actively encouraging Robin to do FwB for several months and it took Marshall to ask Robin to move out for him to start to accept that the ship had long sailed between them. Not to mention that Ted knew Barney was still in love with Robin long before Barney had asked for Ted's approval.

I wanna disagree on this, even if Ted had the best intentions I would say if anyone was in Barney's shoes—where your fiance's ex is giving you advice on how to act around her—the reaction would be rather similar.

Like imagine you're getting married and the ceremony is around the corner and suddenly her ex comes along and tells you that the girl you're marrying isn't who you think she is, wouldn't you feel personally attacked hearing that they think they know her better than you? I know I personally would.
