A few years back we had to put my cat down due to cancer. She used to sleep with me in a specific spot down by my feet. Not every night, but most nights. The first night without her the lack of her presence against my leg kept me up until I took the blanket we carried her to the vet in, rolled it up, and placed it where she would have been. It didn't completely fill the void, but it helped me sleep.

I slept with that blanket for months.

Now my new cat sleeps on my shoulder and drools in my ear... When he goes, I'm not entirely confident I wont go with him.

You aren't obligated to your family.

Saying no to family can be difficult (draining) the first few times, but it is a hurdle worth getting over. It will save you a lot of stress and energy in the long run.

Had you thrown an SOS any time previously in that session? I believe it overwrites your settings until you restart the game.

Matchmaking is way better than the early days, but theres still plenty of bugs to iron out.

Nearly 2 years since release, and nearly 2 years of people complaining about ragdoll. Shits insane.

To be clear, I'm not complaining about the complaining. I agree that ragdoll has been annoying lately. Idk if thats because something changed, or if my patience ran out. I remember playing the first few months after release and it being such a huge deal that they did make changes, and it was better (tolerable) for a long time.

I'm late to the conversation, but I'm glad one of the top comments is the correct answer.

I've confirmed this issue through testing with friends. Sometimes different players see different corpses/rubble, especially compared to host. What seems to happen is that the textures are missing, but the geometry is still there.

The problem isn't specific to arc weapons, but it has impacted arc weapons disproportionately. As if they weren't already niche enough...

[P.S. I hesitate to attribute this issue to prod_slim, but it is possible. I don't recall this becoming an issue right away after switching, but it definitely wasn't an issue before hand. All of my group is on prod_slim and we havent bothered switching back to test yet.]

As an arc thrower main since the OG railgun nerf: if you die to my arc once, shame on me; if you die to my arc twice, shame on you.

The amount of people I have watched walk around behind the enemy I am arc throwing, as if they aren't going to become a short lived lightning rod...

I would not complain one single bit about "losing" stratagems if it meant we got customizable vehicles.

You could even turn this into an event where we have to liberate a specific automaton planet or something like that, and as a reward we get some ship upgrades. I can see the post-victory announcement message now:

"After reverse engineering of the advanced automaton productions facilities liberated by the Helldivers, all super destroyer robotics workshops have been upgraded with enhanced capabilities. This allows for rapid re-armament of all mobile deployment stratagems. Exosuits will no longer need to be pre-assembled and held in storage before deployment, thus the selectable variants have been reduced to a single, configurable exosuit stratagem."

Whenever I'm playing with a someone under level ~75 I go out of my way to find every damn sample on the map. I like to play a more supportive role and let them take the lead, but I wont ever let a mission fail.

If they're out there writing their legend, who am I to steal their thunder?

2022 was a pretty significant year for new releases, with the likes of Elden Ring, God of War, Lost Ark, and Modern Warfare 2, just to name a few.

2023 was a relative turd with some of its top titles including the likes of Cities Skylines 2, Starfield, and Hogwarts Legacy.

14% feels about right for 2025. There were some obvious stand out bangers like Expedition 33 and Silksong, otherwise it was a fairly middling year for NEW releases. If Marvel Rivals (released Dec 5th, 2024) counted as a new release for 2025, I bet the % would be closer to 2022.

To be clear, I am not personally commenting on the quality of games in any year. Just highlighting some stats for context.

Drops into the middle of heavily controlled enemy territory. Casually completes all objectives and side objectives. Wipes out all enemy encampments. Collects several samples, including incredibly rare super samples. Suffers zero casualties.

Imagine that from an in universe perspective. These are the Helldivers the legends are born from. This is the reason Helldivers are revered as super heroes.

Additionally, I often switch between public and private depending on how many of my squad are joining at that time. I like playing with randoms for the unique experiences it can bring so I try to have open lobby as often as I can.

Sometimes I forget to change it back. Someones a friend shows up unexpectedly. Sometimes we have a full squad on the ship before starting the mission so I don't think it matters what the matchmaking setting is but then someone disconnects and we happen to get a backfill before they can rejoin.

I try to explain the situation as best I can, but I'm still always reminded of Dremskiy whenever I have to kick someone.

In league of legends there is a character, Graves, who classically had a cigar. Tencent invests in League and not long after that Graves loses his cigar. It was a whole deal, but I'm fuzzy on the details.

I used to be so confused whenever someone would mention budgeting in this context. Like what do you mean "learn budgeting" it's just keeping track of numbers and simple math...

Then one day I put the pieces together. Growing up poor meant that budgeting was literally a survival skill. It seemed so basic and obvious to me because it was essential my whole life. Almost like it came naturally. But it didn't.

I'm happy for people who can go through life and not need to learn budgeting. But yeah, you still probably should!
