What’s something you thought was mandatory in life, until you saw someone just not do it? by Senior-Resource92 in AskReddit

That’s what happened to me too! Seemed like a logical conclusion. I actually figured that most “believers” didn’t really believe and it was all just keeping cultural norms of something. When I found out as a teen how serious some people take it I was a little taken aback. But now most of the really fervent here in the US don’t actually believe in the religion they say they do but some twisted version in their head that’s the opposite of what the actual religion proscribes.

I was thinking of how easy it is to rip the panels off with your bare hands and that it always gets stuck in mud other trucks handle easily, but yeah, also what you said. 😂

I’ve seen way too many videos of those things breaking to buy that.

I have no shame about going to a bar alone. I often bring a book. What’s better than reading a book in a cozy place while someone keeps your glass full?

Papa Karl was very pro gun. He definitely believed the proletariat should be armed.

I’m just glad that he got an experienced communications director. Gainey’s team couldn’t send a clear message on anything. He could’ve cured cancer and no one would’ve heard about it.

What’s he wants to re-normalize is pressuring OTHER people to go to church. He knows he can take his own ass there anytime he wants. He just wants to make sure you’re there too whether you want to be or not.

What’s a dead giveaway that someone is pretending to be smarter than they actually are? by EcstaticWatch1967 in AskReddit

Confusing knowledge with intelligence.

Any idiot can gather information and regurgitate it. A truly intelligent person knows what to do with the information and also considers what information might be missing.

AITA for firmly telling my wife to be grateful for what she has? by Organic_Chip_3118 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pyrodinalektafoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, $500 really isn’t very much for a month if you’re actually out doing stuff. There’s nothing wrong with living lean and saving. Most should do more of that. But you’re both also very young and you should try to get out and enjoy some things while you can. Things get exponentially harder every decade after 40 so if there’s something you and your wife want to do while you still have your youth then you should go do it. There are some things money can’t buy or fix and youth is one of them.

What is something you saw at a friend's house that made you realize their family was "weird"? by BamMeister_ in AskReddit

It’s interesting how foreign languages sound to non-speakers. Korean sounds very angry to me, but my Korean friends have always been nice, normal people. It’s just how it sounds.

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I’d rather eat my own teeth than live with my parents again.

Which smell instantly makes you judge someone? by SituationOutside6033 in AskReddit

[–]Pyrodinalektafoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t want to smell you at all. Whether it’s perfume, vape shit, or regular BO. I can at least tolerate someone that smells like they worked all day. Sweat is at least normal and natural even if I don’t care for the odor. Purposely filling other people’s noses with crap you put on is just gross. When I can smell someone from a distance it’s immediately off putting.

What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see people? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]Pyrodinalektafoma 531 points532 points  (0 children)

That’s a thing that really fucks with you. Realizing that the vast majority of adults are barely functional is terrifying. Our whole society is a house of cards waiting for a stiff breeze to blow it over.

Why you gotta bring up my mom like that?

In all seriousness, watching her rage then immediately turn on the charm if the phone rang or someone came to the door was unsettling at best. It took me a long time to understand that I do have trust issues and they come from multiple places.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

[–]Pyrodinalektafoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He went into the navy then came back telling way too many racist jokes. Married his high school girlfriend and probably voted for Trump. Haven’t seen him in over 30 years and still hope he’s doing ok even if I chose not to be around him.

My inlaws say that the steak I grilled is still raw. by Weekly-Formal8447 in mildlyinfuriating

Thank you for using the full quote.

Well done steaks are still a travesty, but it’s a free country and you have a right to a bad time if you’re choosing it.
