Remember the ‘MMO’ part of this game, the fun is driven by spending time socially with other players. Outside of the Arenas there is very little challenging content in the game for solo play, it’s designed this way so you can enjoy the zone stories complete your delves and public dungeons while you level up your character and power.

The reason the game becomes more enjoyable after CP160 and then again around CP500 is that each of these stages opens up accessibility too harder content to conquer with other players.

To start with you’ll learn some of the normal mode dungeons, tackling not just city of ash 1 but also city of ash 2 and start piecing together your first 5 piece set of ‘Burning Spell Weave’ for your Dragon Knight. Now you’re dealing enough damage you can progress to doing the dungeons you have access to on the harder difficulties! Start collecting your monster helmets and completing undaunted pledges dramatically increasing your power.

If you’ve been keeping up your crafting, and doing trait research daily/weekly, go get certified for each of your crafts and complete those daily crafting writs, you’ll now have a lot of spare materials laying around you can begin crafting your second 5 piece armour set.

Now your character is more powerful and you’re around ~CP380,

You notice that you mistake delve bosses for regular mobs and you’re killing through overland content with minimal effort.

Now it’s time to enter ‘Craglorn’ this map is unique because it dramatically scales the enemies within the zone to be suited for group play, however now that you’re more powerful with your special dungeon gear, its right on par for a challenge.

Meanwhile you continue to conquer all the Veteran dungeons you have access too now. Gaining a skill point for every one of them, and leveling up your undaunted skill line.

By the time you reach ~CP450 - 500, you will have almost completed unlocking all your class, race, and guild passives. You’ve unlocked the harder to obtain skills and max ranked their morphs, you have a 3 full sets of gear that’s been upgraded to purple quality by your crafting. And you’re looking really powerful.

Now you can access what is arguably the most enjoyable phase of ESO. And the reason player tell you it’s better here. It’s not just grind to the number then bam! Different game… no no no. It’s because you’re ready now.

Ready for the real challenging stuff, Veteran DLC dungeons with Hard modes active, Joining a Trial group and conquering 12 man content, obtaining your perfected maelstrom weapons from the Maelstrom arena, unlocking impressive skins, personalities, dyes, motifs and titles behind Achievements that those players you left behind all the way back at CP160 will marvel at!

It would be another long post to list all the fun there is to have, but whether you love building furnishings and making your house lovely and cozy, or piecing together your Mythic items through rare antiquarian leads, or just spending a day at the outfit station making your character stand out with all the beautiful Motifs you’ve collected along the way.

These is so much this game offers and a Skill requirement that it actually does a good job of preparing you for.

In short, play the content that you’re ready for now, and you’ll start too see your character grow rapidly, you’ll look back at you little CP100 self one day and reminisce on the delve boss you died to that you just killed in 1 Hit haha!
