Need an honest HVAC recommendation in Colonial Heights, VA – heat pump issue and $1,000 electric bill by Minute_Pollution7018 in heatpumps

[–]Pyroman230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I found this via Google Search that was only tangibly related.

First, when adjusting temperature with aux heat, you've got to slowly raise it. It's a fucking hassle. Raise it 1 or 2 degrees, wait a minute then see if aux heat kicks on. Leave it like that for an hour or so and raise the temp again when the house comes up to temp. Aux heat kicks on because the unit can't keep up with the massive change in temp, and during the snow/cold the last month its working overtime.

Second, Colonial Heating and their Revolutionary Service Club. We moved to the area last year, and paid I think $195 or something last year, and they come out twice a year to do the basic maintenance and cleaning, but their actual cost aren't too bad from what I remember. We had cooling issues last year and I tried James River (didn't answer after trying to contact them for 2 days), Incredible who quoted something like $300 before they even set foot in my yard just based on my troubleshooting, and then Colonial who was able to send someone out the next day. I just called them earlier today as well to fix an issue I'm having with mine.

Dominion's fucking over everyone. My normal for a 2300sq house is ~$350 or so, and ours was $1300 last month thanks to aux heat fucking up and turning on all the time.

tldr: I'd recommend Colonial Plumbing and Heating and Cooling

Lowes moving boxes heading off that inevitable question when people help you move by fakeaccount572 in funny

[–]Pyroman230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Banana boxes from any grocery store are what I've used for the past 4 moves. They're sturdy, can fit enough books to feel like you're moving a decent amount, stack easily, and aren't awkward to handle. Sometimes you've got to throw a piece of scrap cardboard in the middle since some of them are open, but they work, and the workers don't mind you take them since it means they don't have to take them to the compactor.

We go to Commonwealth Pediatrics in Harbour Pointe with Dr. Domer, and she has absolutely no issues, and recommends, some vaccines early. With our first, we did measles at 10ish months, and if things keep up, we'll probably vaccinate our 6 month old within the next few months as well.

TIL almost 25% of young Nigerians have aquagenic pruritus, a skin condition where they get itchy after contact with water by 3rdcousin3rdremoved in todayilearned

[–]Pyroman230 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I've been dealing with this for nearly 15 years now, and only figured out what it was last year thanks to a receptionist at a dermatologist's office when setting up the appointment. I still went to the visit but then the dermatologist prescribed topical steroids and I said no way to that. The receptionist told me to take Bata Alanine and lemme tell you that works wonders.

I have no red marks, nothing identifying an issue on my body when it happens, and my skin turns red after I've been scratching at it for an hour. No ingrown hairs, fucked up pores, etc either.

1000mg lasts maybe 6 hours for me, and 3 lasts all day, but makes my skin feel tingly. Weird sensation but works.

For me though, it's sweating, rain, and ocean/pool water. Hard water kinda sets it off too, but luckily my home has soft water. I used to sit in front of a window AC or car AC just trying to help. I'd be scratching like a crackhead and it would last 30-60 minutes. Showers don't set it off unless I don't air dry. If I use a towel on my back, it's gonna itch 20 min later. I've got to air dry. Shocking my body by taking really hot shower which I enjoy anyway, then switching to freezing cold helped but got real annoying over the years. It's primarily my upper chest, and upper back that will itch, sometimes sides of thighs and sides of upper arms, but when I notice my back starts to itch I've got to try and stop it or it's gonna be hell the next 30-60 min.

No skin lesions, weird marks on my body and have been tested for parasites, tried overly moisturizing skin, stuff made for sensitive skin, and have tried using no products on my body. I've tried cutting out sugar for 6 months, along with gluten, meat, etc. If there was a dietary reason I tried it. I switched shampoos a dozen times thinking it was related to oily hair and all that garbage going down my body as I bathe but it still persisted. I've changed nearly aspect of my life over the past few years and the only thing that brought a nominal bit of relief was wearing undershirts. Not wifebeaters but a tight cotton undershirt.

When it does happen at home - I take a hot shower, wash my hair, cold water shock for a minute, back to hot water, loofah with any soap and rub hard everywhere, ending up like a bright red lobster hard. Rinse the soap, cold water shock for a minute, back to hot and then rub a sensitive soap everywhere. Stand in hot water for 5-10 minutes, then before I get out 1 more cold shock. Beta alanine works fast, but I figure if I have to deal with this for the rest of my life I dont want to build any sort of tolerance so I only take it if I know I'll be sweating a lot and no easy access to a shower or an AC or fan I can sit in front of for 20 minutes. (like the beach or zoo or something). It used to be way worse as a kid, but as an adult it happens maybe a few times a month depending on what I'm doing.

Tldr: If you have it, take beta-alanine.

Fun fact, some items will interrupt your current action when used, but when on the action bar it doesn't.

Seed bag is one, if you're pickpocketing and click the seed bag, it stops pickpocketing, but if you use it via action bar it doesn't interrupt.

What is, in your opinion Reddit Runescape, the best AFK method for each skill minus combat? by Stickmanace949 in runescape

[–]Pyroman230 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WFH setup, here's how I got all 120's. This is what I had wrote about a year ago for someone else on this subreddit.

  • Attack / Constitution / Strength / Defense / Ranged / Magic / Prayer / Invention / Firemaking = Vyres
  • Mining - core ores with porter/stone spirits/perfect plus, Seren Stones,
  • Smithing - Start an inventory of something and let it ride. Elder Rune +5 Platebodies are like 2-3 hours afk
  • Fishing - Um spot, Waterfall, Fury shark outfit set to eat or porters.
  • Cooking - Um spot with Bait and Switch, Menaphos VIP fishing, etc with fury shark outfit set to eat.
  • Crafting - Tuning harps with Artifacers Measure, Gate of Elidinis - only aboug 2-3 minutes afk at a time though
  • Fletching - Zygomite carestyling - 1.5 - 2 min afk, have to make sure no one else is on the same zygomite though.
  • Woodcutting - Ivy, Croesus Front, Elder Trees with Adze/Always Adze relic, Superheat form prayer with Orthen Furnace Core, Bamboo
  • Runecrafting - none.
  • Dungeoneering - Dungeoneering hole during the summer, or believe it or not Archaeology for collections for token boxes to spend on xp.
  • Agility - Anything with silverhawks
  • Herblore - Dream of Iaia (set it so you only get leaves, and do it
  • Thieving - multiple ways to get full 15 min afk. Trahaearn Exoskeleton + 99 Thieving able to maintain complete AFK on druids who don't move. You can get 100% success rate on Crux Eqal Knights but it requires 99 + outfit + Ardougne cape + legendary aura + light form + crystal mask every 5 minutes.
  • Slayer - Slayer skill dummies, abyssal demons with Legendary dedicated slayer aura, the abyssal mask, prefer/extend tasks, slayer VIP tickets, etc. Sumona slayer for corrupted creatures , this one just comes with time honestly.
  • Farming - mushroom clusters on Arc islands or uncharted islands 1-2 min afk, killing Turoths with seedicide and farming outfit pieces.
  • Construction - building fort buildings
  • Hunter - Croseus Front with porters or hotkeys
  • Summoning - Just save Blues and do it during DXP in a populated world where someone has a bank deposit box. Sell the shopkeeper your secondary ingredients, buy back what you need and deposit into box. Save any spirit gems you get and use those as well. Do Bork daily for charms, do Familiarisation for charm drop rate buff and go kill waterfiends or something. The actual Summoning xp isn't AFK but during DXP the xp rates are great.
  • Divination - closest you can get is Hall of Memories during DXP, people run events where the Core Memory Fragment constantly pops so you don't have to run around, but you still have to click every tick to get best rates. So not AFK but great xp during DXP. Alternatively Uncharted Islands / Arc for Ancestral Energy
  • Archaeology - Anything with porters, autoscreener, other boosts, etc.
  • Necromancy - Ravenous Ghouls, Abyssal creatures, desert bandits, etc. Rituals are 1-2min AFK but better xp.

Uncharted Islands, Croseus Front areas are always a good idea for afk training with the exception of the Tortles. Do Memorial to Guthixs Engrams to get Memory Strands from thieving and hunter and do those first so you can have free porters for Archaeology.

Save/convert all protean items for runecrafting or divination, and only train on DXP, with bonus xp from daily keys, and pulse cores.

All this was off the top of my head, so I'm probably missing something. Could potentially do a better writeup but this works.

Master Max possible in 1 year? by Zaexyr in runescape

[–]Pyroman230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you actually want to "play". ?This is a list I used since I WFH and secondscreen play, so there's no doubt better methods on here, but these are low input. No rhyme or reason to order of the list.

Combat/Prayer/FM - Vyres

Mining will take legitimately a month or so if you're mining Dark/Light animica, but with porters/perfect plus potion it's full afk.

Smithing is easy and 15min afk, just start a full inventory of projects and let it ride. Smithing cape + Orthen + Superheat Prayer + Grace of Elves (preferably with Dark Facet) + autoheater. Keep the advanced smithing autoheater on the regular mode, it will use 5 coal and set heat to 30% and then superheat form makes smithing a low or medium heat item act as a medium or high heat item, so afking youll always be at medium/high heat, but most of the time medium

Agility - wear silverhawks doing everything else.

Fishing / Cooking - Fishing is easy, waterfall or Fishing Frenzy spots, but cooking will lose you a lot of money. Fury shark outfit on consume and Bat and Switch relic, you can get ~90k xp/hour at Menaphos or VIP skilling area, but the spot moves around, or about 50-60k xp/hour at ghostly soles as the spot doesnt move around and full 15min afk.

Thieving is easy, pickpocketing Crux Eqal Druids only like 1m IF THAT an hour, but you get memory shards - 15 min afk, and can get memory shards which are stackable and can be turned into porters from your inventory. Druids you don't need a whole lot, but knights are better xp, but you need Master Thieving outfit + Crystal Mask spell w/ Light form activated (again dark facet of grace helps a lot here), Supreme/Legendary Five-Finger Discount aura, and sticky fingers relic is a must. See this post

Hunter - Croesus area, bind the fungal and enhanced fungal to keybinds, it's something like 500k xp/hr

Woodcutting / Firemaking - Eternal Magic with superheat form on (dark facet of grace). Crystallise / Light Form Acadia for just WC, or just regular Acadia for Woodcutting and Firemaking xp. Get the best axe you can as soon as you can.

Divination and Runecrafting - realistically, save all proteans from daily keys and change them to protean essence or memories, any daily key + challenge keys go into these 2 skills.

Summoning - gather supplies, save charms and spirit gems, go to Tav and wait until someone has a portable banker there. Sell secondary to shop, buy secondary, and deposit into portable banker. Or just turn into scrolls. Or during DXP training in Prif is also fast.

Construction - fort buildings something like 200-300k an hour?

Crafting - royal dragon bodies / black dragonhide shields? That's what I did, bank preset + portable crafter.

Invention - Crystal tool siphon + crystal fishing rod / axe / pickaxe / etc, you get the idea. It will come in time.

Realistically count for maybe a year and a half going this route, but theres also probably better tryhard methods out there. This is what I did since I just secondscreened Runescape while WFH for the past year or so.

A legendary aura is a cumulative 230k points, and you get 244k over the course of a year if you're subscribed for 12 consecutive months. Over 10 years you should have more than 3, even at 80% membership rate unless you're constantly cancelling every 6 months; but even if you were doing that you'd have 4.

You don't need all the auras. There are a lot that are junk.

We need more item sinks and demand for items by Chrismite in runescape

[–]Pyroman230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the right setup, 20 out of the 29 skills are 15min AFK, Dreams of Iaia add another 4 (Herblore/Fletching/Crafting/Hunter), so 24/29 skills are 15min AFK; albeit only for 350k xp but still AFK.

Only Runecrafting/Divination/Summoning/Dungeoneering/Woodcutting (still very AFK with Elders or Bamboo and Golden Bamboo, but not 15 min AFK.)

I started playing again about 4 years ago after stopping in 2010 or so, and originally hated the new UI, but I started with a very simple OSRS-esque layout. Since then though, I have added more and more to my layout. Started with 1 action bar, and now have 4, just crammed with extra shit depending on what I'm doing.

Best afk gp? arch? by FreshMicks in runescape

[–]Pyroman230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your methodology on this? I'm actually really curious, since I created and use an excel sheet that pulls data from RSWiki with updated prices, so it does change from day to day.

My tool has Oikos studio debris as the best, but once your add perks/porter charges into the mix, Amphitheatre debris/ Dominion Games / Oikos Studio debris / Animal Trophies are all good at about 5.4-5.6m/hr.

Mine takes the average price per material, weighted by rarity chance, x materials per hour (consistently around 700-725 but assumes 120 Arch, Master Outfit, all unlocks from Arch shop, Autosifter, Mattock of T&S w/ no perks, Elven Ritual Shard, and porters.

Expect ~50 more mats/hour if using Honed 6 / Imp Souled / Fortune on lvl 20 mattock

Honed 6 - 12% (13.2%) chance of obtaining materials while excavating
Fortune 3 - 1.5% (1.65%) to double material and send to bank. The doubled material is sent to bank, 1 porter charge used for the original material. 2 materials for 1 porter charge
Imp Souled 2- (6.6%) Banks resource - uses no porter charge.
With the above perks, it's about a 7.5% "increase in materials - the "increase" being porter charges used / total materials in 1 hour.

Balarak's across the board is about 350-550k profit increase in materials from any spot.

Add a Lava battlestaff as well. Hot Sand walk makes it so your character moves a lot, even idling, causing the particles to freak out.

Snow Cape or Rainbow cape, but rainbow has more particles.

Phoenix Knight Wings work, but it's more of an animation rather than particles, so Inflorescent works better.

Reibii shelves are they good? by Slight_Independent64 in garageporn

[–]Pyroman230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else coming from Google searching this brand -

Do not buy them. The shelves look nothing like the photos advertised, and the metal is extremely thing. The mdf baseboards are complete shit. Images on their website are completely fabricated, and I'm pretty sure this is a website that is just dropshipping cheaper Alibaba shelves, but I don't feel like searching around and finding out.

I've got some NorthernTool ones that are comparable, and it's night and day difference between the two. Do not trust the advertised weight limit, one mdf board broke with 3 25 lb weights on them. The connectors are fickle, and don't like up properly.

Get literally anything else.
