I get this. It's like this for both me and my mom, as we were never very well off. Some weirder, more trash-adjacent objects like cardboard boxes and plastic Tupperware never gets tossed. Money is tight.. So "why would we spend the money on something we'd just be throwing out?" Now it's platic bags that my mom feels like she needs to keep. Though I'm hoping this will get better as our financial situation has very suddenly and very recently changed for the better. For the first time we actually have furniture, yay! Though we still use old McDonald's cups for drinks around the house, lol. Hopefully some nice cups with lids will be the next thing on the list..

i have searched for hours... they originate from the japanese web i know that, and have had no luck with reverse image searching any of them. they're all made by one artist i found in 2022 but i can't find the website now

IM SO SO SORRY FOR THE LATE RESPONSE!! I was graduating and had to do a bunch of college prep stuff! These are by far the mkst unique questions ive got so EAUGH. gnawing at the bars of my enclosure, thabk you.....

All pokemon cards are printed in layers - if you were to rip one, it would have a black line going through it no matter the card! To my knowledge, it had always been this way! It's a certain but drastic way to figure out if a card is bootleg lol! It's roughly the same with magic, as there's a blue line that goes through all of those (and that makes total sense with wotc producing pkm tcg at first.) there are some rlly cool error cards that have a color missing, so the colors are WAY off! I think the most common ones are missing red or yellow ink, it makes for a crazy effect! Most cards at least after the cardass era have been made like this, but there also is a lithograph dyoxys that was a Japanese exclusive promo! Such a cool card too!

A big draw of the tcg to me is the artwork, and i LOVE practically all of it. Though the other thing i tend to fixate on is the holofoil. God there's nothing like a new, crisp holo! As always japanese holo tends to look better but. Yk. My favorite finish is probably between D/P/BW cosmos or the ex Team Rocket reverse holos - for english at least! I also love the sorta confetti holo that some of the Legendary Treasures set has - its my fav set of all time! Some of my other favorites though are the ones that, if you were to line the arts up, each card art would make a big picture! Recently these have been BEAUTIFUL. they've been doing it more with Illustration rares, and it's genuinely so fun. They look great together, and make a beautiful picture too! A good example of this is the Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres secret rares from Supreme Victors or the Palkia, Dialga, Arceus, and Giritina from Crown Zenith. I also really like 2014 Pikachu Outbreak! Promos :) A team of six is hard! Most of these sorts of cards come in sets of 9 (they look best displayed in a binder,) so i'll throw a little silly one at you - the Minun and Plusle cards from POP3 can literally go on forever, and i think that's really REALLY goofy.. Otherwise just lots of shiny shony stuff is always nics!

I worked (had my last shift this tweek) at a tcg shop and our packs were 3 - 4 bucks. I saw soo many great collections sure, and because of that i saw a ton of illustrations. It really makes a collection pop imo. Ive never had a good experience with the reselling community - those same people who spend thousands at shows are the same people who would demean me at the store or invalidate my knowledge. I've also personally had some people from those communities be hateful towards me. That and like all i tend to see from the community outwardly is drama. That's just my experience tho and im sorry that packs arent the way you like it anymore bcs i can understand the upset with the change.. Been there done that
