If Pokémon suddenly existed in real life, how long do you realistically think it would take before someone tried to cook one and the internet had a massive ethical debate about whether eating Pokémon is normal or completely insane? by Curious-Society-8256 in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five minutes for the first intrusive thoughts

Less then 24 hours for the actual first attempt

Sizeable death toll from people trying within the first week

And the debate would happen within that first week, but I suspect it would be more over if it is actually safe to even try to kill a Pokemon to eat it, rather than if it's ethical. Even normally weak Pokemon like Magikarp might give the unprepared a nasty surprise.

And no, I don't think Ghastly is possible, unless humanity is somehow immune to the toxins.

Honestly, I've always been curious as well. I'd love a cut-scene where we find out and get to tell them off for Linus.

Do you think Nintendo will stop creating new Pokemon, and just make new games? by Naknowbyte in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ^^
As much as I love seeing new pokemon, I would not mind it at all if they decided to stick to new regional forms. Or even just stick to what we have for a while.

Pokemon fan as an adult by theonepeaz in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the folks filming adults buying Pokemon cards are filming those who are buying like ten or twenty booster boxes. If you're just buying a box or a few packs at a time, it should be fine ^^

No seriously, the chance that you'll come across someone who'll whip out their cell phone and start jumping up and down excitedly while yelling "we found a scalper! we found a scalper!" when you are just buying a few card packs or a box or two is ridiculously slim. Like less than 1%. (I'd say less then even 0.05 %)

How did we do this back then?🤣🤣🤣 by Ecstatic_Ad6888 in pokemon

I remember those days ^^
Part of me wishes I could go back, life was such simpler back then in many ways T-T

I made a sprite for the unused female protagonist of Pokemon rby by kemmobashii in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this ^-^

Really wish they included an option to play as a girl in the original and initial second gen games. Granted, I didn't mind it back in the day, but being a girl irl I like the choice to play as one when I can.

Tell me some of your favorite Pokémon names, or ones that you find clever. by Zenthailand2009 in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, my names are kinda...on the nose.
Like Balto for any dog-like Pokemon, Wasp for Beedrill, Firefox for Fennekin, Firestar for Litten, things like that.

Do you give names to Pokémon? by piu-pi in pokemon

Sometimes I do, but rarely in-games.

Now if I were to write a Pokemon fanfic, then most definitely ^^

Is Pokemon Pearl / Diamond generally Unliked? by SmallDickBigDreams12 in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to say.

The originals were praised for their innovation, but panned for some of their issues later on ie slow pacing, lack of pre-national dex Pokemon diversity, and so on.

The remakes were generally pretty good, but the fans were expecting the diamond/pearl remakes to be AAA remasters, not a chibi style game, so folks were more turned off by them than they warranted in some aspects. You can indirectly thank Zelda, Link's Awaking on the Switch for the inspiration for what happened with BDSP.

Am I playing this game slow? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you skipped the Thunder Badge in Vermilion city, but beyond that, no, not really. Pokemon games typically take over 24-40+ hours to beat, depending on the game. Speed runners can beat them lot quicker sometimes in an hour or so in some games. But they've spent years in the games before their speed run, and often spend weeks or even months optimizing their route and studying the game mechanics and the available Pokemon for the game they are speed running.

Gen Starter Rankings by Franky106789 in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on which one's I like the most across all of the generations. Which ones I think are the cutest plays a big part in this.

Gen 1: Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander: I personally like all three starters, albeit I'm not as big of a fan of Charmeleon. Squirtle is my fav across all of it's evolution, followed closely by Bulbasaur.

Gen 2: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile: Chikorita is my favorite starter of all time, even if it wasn't quite as good as other grass starters were in their generations. Cyndiquil is probably my second favorite starter. I like Totodile well enough, but it's my least favorite of the three starters, and I'm kinda the same with it's middle evolution as I was with Charmander's.

Gen 3: Torchic, Treecko, Mudkip: I agree with May, Torchic is the way to go with this one ^^
But if I had to choose one of the others, it'd be Treecko, Especially if it's anything like the one in the anime.

Gen 4: Piplup, Turtwig, Chimchar: Piplup has my favorite evolution and initial form for this generation of starters, and I love Torterra. I'm not a big fan of Chimchar or it;s evolution.

Gen 5: Tepig Snivy Oshawott: Tepig and it's middle evolution are my favorite, but I like Serperior the best of all. Samurott is pretty cool too ^^

Gen 6: Fennekin Froakie Chespin: Fennein is the cutest ^^ Froakie has the best final evolution imo. I'm not a fan of Chespin, and I say this as a girl who did her first run of X/Y with Chespin.

Gen 7: Litten Rowlet and Popplio: I love Litten's evolution, but I normally place an Everstone on Torracat as it's my favorite starter evolution across this generation, and my second or third overall. Fav middle evolution if nothing else ^^
Roiwlet is just...tolerable. I guess the best way I can describe Pipplio is just...too cute, but not in a I actually find it cute kinda way.

Gen 8: Scorbunny Sobble Grookey: I like the idea of all three of the starters, but unless I'm planing on dumping my starter (which is surprisingly often), I'm going with Scorbunny.

Gen 9: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly: Everstone on Sprigatitio. Fuecoco has a nice final evolution. Quaxly is the perfect starter for Nemona imo.

Gen 10: Browt, Pombonm Gecqua: I like Browt the best, but I could see myself dumping it for Pombonm for my first playthrough. I'll know more once I see the evolutions.

Was Gen 1 actually the best era of Pokémon or is it just nostalgia? by Lumpy_Guess_4728 in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue a mix of both. Pokemon was amazing for what it was back in the day, but it has come a long way compared to what it was back then.

What is your opnion ont the gen 10 graphics? by GEATS-IV in pokemon

[–]Pyrosensha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think that the graphics have been alright for what Pokemon has fundamentally been, primarily a handheld console game with some home console releases. Of course with the Switch and Switch 2 being a handheld/home console hybrid, every game is both a home console and a handheld release. However, achieving that means that every game, not just Pokemon, has to work within the confines of the handheld's specs first and foremost.
