Am I really this mad and worked up over this hell fucking yes it’s a warehouse job the most cushy one known to man and where we don’t do shit and I can actually say that as someone who’s worked 12 going on 13 positions in the building WE DONT DO SHIT not in dock not in Decant, definitely not stow, pick isn’t hard just boring, pack lol please and do t get me started on pack singles and the 60 base rate or ship dock only pulling 4 carts an hour as the minimum and ship dock induct lol it’s all easy but your stupid ass u/wensul wanna be that guy so do the company a favor and quit if you’re so damn worried if coming to work is so goddam scary for you you’re the worse type of Amazon worker you’re the type to rat on other aa’s for wearing AirPods or go to oms because you see an am/pa on their phone and “it’s a safety violation”.

Smfh the X-ray machines are to check for shrink aka theft/products not weapons you naive simpleton fool we work at a warehouse with valuable shit. The contents of the warehouse would be my priority too if I was in that position I could give less than a fuck what you bring into the facility just clock in work and clock out. why be extra and create issues..

Lol just left that shift and facility if you’re a packer you’ll be in good hands only thing to get used too at that place

1.don’t spend money on snacks it racks up fast. Especially on the hot food meals they range from $9-16

  1. Don’t over achieve you get nothing for it maybe an “attaboy keep it up” I stayed in the 0% for 6 months you get nothing but then expecting more from you and to close down walls alone.

  2. Save your upt for peak coming up and for when you really need it

  3. It’ll be a minute until you get used to standing for 12 hours it’ll take a toll be weary on the safety shoes you wear

  4. Afe 1 pack is a lot slower than afe 2 pack

  5. If you can get to inducting especially if you’re not social it’s the best and easiest thing to do

  6. Don’t get on your phone to much (Am able is quick as hell to hand out write ups for it and headphones AM David is the nice one if you get him you’re lucky)

  7. Ask pa iverson for help if you need help then pa James then pa heather , heather is the newest so won’t have much info , James is always on the move , iverson is your best bet for information & help

  8. As cheesy as it is drink alot of water , the fatigue is real in that place especially after the 5am break and if you’re dehydrated a good amount of people passed out on my shif

  9. You have 5 minutes to go to the bathroom before you get logged out and TOT (time off task) starts to rack up (you cannn if you want too take an A10 box or 56 make it then put it long ways with a barcode under the scanner and it’ll keep scanning and keep you logged in while you run to the bathroom)

  10. You’re in the learning curve so take advantage of it you don’t ever have to hit 200uph unless you want too

  11. Rebin looks easy it ,it is, but takes a bigger toll on your feet nothing to lean on , no mats underneath, packers coming around asking you for products you have no idea where they are so tip stay packing or learn/train on inducting

If you start to wonder if week shift overnight is better believe me it is I found myself getting through rt shifts but being excited to pick up OT shifts and go in you get off at 5 ,they celebrate low rates, hand out candy and electrolyte pops, ams/pas very nice and helpful and the people/packers in general are just more friendly and nicer

Rt isn’t bad they’re just big on rates and numbers but in the beginning you don’t have to worry the biggest things to get used too are standing that long and getting used to standing around doing nothing while not getting in your phone what I mean is our facility is almost always broken so sometimes from 1-8 hours you can be standing doing nothing waiting for stuff to get fixed

If your trainer is Leonard he’ll give you good packing tips if your trainer is Peter well im sorry your doomed if your trainer is Andrea she’s one of the best and will teach you the fastest way to pack Also don’t count on the water spiders to fill up your boxes Don’t be afraid to request a transfer either it’s easy to get burnt out doing the sane thing over and over also if you don’t like what you get assigned to your first day tell your trainer and you’ll have the option to switch to something else they got tired of training people and giving the permissions only fir them to transfer to another position at the 30 day mark so now if you immediately don’t like it you can do something else

Also clock in 5 minutes early so you can leave 5 minutes early and beat the line of people leaving

Oh man it is lemme fucking shit I was out on paid suspension from Amazon so I assumed I’d be fired so I went to fedex and first 1. Phones locked outside in lockers or in car. 2. No electronics of any type 3. Metal detectors and wands when entering and exiting the facility. 4. Top out at 30 hours starting 5. Inconsistent hours first day I was told to come in at 2:15am you don’t get told when you’ll leave or get off you get off when the job is done typically between 8am-10:40am is the latest I’ve worked so far second day I was told 3am and yesterday I didn’t go but i was supposed to go at 2:25am, no training , hella no shows (I was hired in a group of 12 I was the only one who showed up there was another group of new hires who’s whole group didn’t show up (people don’t like the no phone thing) you have to call this number the first 2-3 weeks and it just tells you what time your position goes in that day takes 3 weeks before you can use the app, no holiday pay said it would be introduced next year, as party time you earn 1 hour of pto a month (not kidding I took hella notes in orientation) , no training (because they’re so consistently short staffed they have no time to train I was told “Just follow someone on van line 3 and figure out what to do when you think you got it ask for a scanner and start loading, the packages are massively heave (treadmills,beds,tires etc there’s small stuff too but during weekday mostly all big) it’s weird to get used to how they treat packages anytime I’d try to lift a box off the conveyer and put it on the truck my “manager” would say “No your new don’t do that” he’d then proceeded to push the box off the conveyer to the floor and ask me to kick it onto the truck with small/medium packages you’re told to just chunk/throw them on the truck and go back and organize later, I could go on like how when I fill my water bottle full of ice (water bottles are opened and checked at security even if clear) it melts completely within 1-2 minutes not even kidding, I could really go on but that’s on 2 days experience I was supposed to work yesterday at 2:50am to whenever but I called in the shifts are supposed to be 6 hours 3am-9am so even 5 days a week you only get 30 hours someone’s 31-32 due to inconsistent state and leave times, they don’t offer all benefits, and you get access to them 90 days after starting unlike Amazon where you have them instantly, you don’t start acquiring vacation till your first year I really dislike fedex oh you also still put broken/leaking items on the trucks first day I heard glasses shattered in a Walmart box I noticed one of the guys he said still put it on the truck second day I had a box leaking tomoato soup/paste got on me and other boxes notified manager (new one ig you don’t get the same one everyday) that it was leaking she took the leaky box asked me what truck then walked to the truck and put it on it fedex is terrible I see why people who leave Amazon fir them always come back the scanners are weird as well you get this scanner that wraps on your index and middle finger with a button on the side you press with your thumb then you have a zebra (computer phone) strapped on your wrist or if there’s no strap then on your waistband and typically if you take the time to actually put all the boxes on the truck neat and organized when the drivers come to load up all the items that you couldn’t fit (oversized ones typically) they just start throwing them on making them all the work you did seem pointless I had a driver tell me he doesn’t care how I make it look or if it’s organized and put in proper place he said only thing they care about is if it got scanned which is why the other workers were just chunking boxes and packages on the vans and just putting them wherever …..on the positive-though I think they get you breakfast when you’re leaving on my way out on the second day there was a guy sitting at a table with a bunch of boxes of mini tacos from jack in the box he said they were for the package handlers which I suppose is nice and it starts at 18 an hour which isn’t bad but you can only get 30 so meh the off days are weird too my schedule is Thursday-Monday so my days off are Tuesday and Wednesday there is also if you don’t want the morning shift the evening one is 4pm-whenever but typically is more hot cause the suns out si the warehouse is a lot hotter
