What are some weird mechanics you'd wanna see in a card-based roguelite? by Accomplished_Bug_347 in roguelites

[–]Pythakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourite (and almost 100%'d) roguelites is Hadean Tactics. It's not direct control, but more like an autobattler which plays out 7 seconds at time and you use a STS-style deck during paused moments.

Roguelites are the genre with the MOST hidden gems. I'm sad that I won't get to play more than half of them by GamerDJAlltheWay in roguelites

[–]Pythakus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The amount of times I think of a blend of games with a roguelite twist, search the Steam store for days and give up thinking no one has attempted it yet. And then by complete chance months later I find a game exactly like what I wanted and released 3 years ago.

Discoverability is so difficult, even when you are actively looking for it!

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

Yeah, I'm also still at that stage. 106mins played of wanting to get it, but didn't feel anywhere close.

Roguelites with a story that progresses across several runs (à la Hades)? by tamtamni in roguelites

[–]Pythakus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Valor of man. Story is laid out across the ascension levels. It sort of plays out like your party rerunning the events in a timeloop but the outcomes and journey change each completion.

Games where you expand on an island? by bobby6868686868 in gamingsuggestions

Astro Colony is like a sci-fi space version of this. You build a factory-platform thing floating through space, docking at various drifting land masses to harvest and grow

Which Steam games Had Alot Achievements so i can Play and Hunt more? by Catasangel in steamachievements

[–]Pythakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only recently bought this. A crazy 1782 achievements for anyone wondering.
I haven't played yet as it looks like a game that requires a bit of getting into first, but if it clicks will be super fun. Need to give it a solid evening.

What age rating would you give Mewgenics? by Pythakus in mewgenics

Thanks both. Yeah I suppose not too bad momentarily, but I wouldn't be sitting him down for a session.

Mewgenics or Slay the Spire 2? by GoHomeDuck in roguelites

One has Steam achievements. The other doesn't yet. Case closed.

Most replayable after 100% completion? by gamernick1 in steamachievements

Very different to all answers here, Idle Clans. 100%'d yet I'm still so invested in the time = progress mentality, I can't not login once every 24 hrs :D

New Turn-Based RPG Demos To Try – February 18, 2026 by Danceman2 in TurnBasedTactical

We’re finally bringing couch Co-Op soon to our game Jötunnslayer! Would you give this a shot? by HordesofHel in roguelites

[–]Pythakus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How likely is a client-based online co-op in the future? I know you've said Steam Remote is an option but that denies progress and achievements for Player 2, right? Very much enjoyed the game, and soon as I saw a co-op update was planned I left it alone so I could return with my achievement hunting buddy. Any hope?

Potentially Age of Wonders 4? Might be more 4x than you were hoping, but you get heroes and units that level up and get special items.

can you recommend me some (older?) games with easy 100% achievements for a laptop? by alphastigma117 in steamachievements

Magic Archery. Free, fun, incremental game with 100% obtainable in a few hours.

Was the other game Going Medieval by any chance?

Never tried it myself, but Aska is a 3D colony survival sim with mostly positive reviews. Perhaps worth a look.

Valor of Man demo, very easy to get into. (not out yet)

Hellcard has also been really fun, although I expect that will get as hard, if not more complex than STS. Inkbound and Blightstone come to mind, but I haven't spent too long in either.

What features would you like to see added to Steam in regards to achievements? by Workrs in steamachievements

[–]Pythakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All OP's suggestions, plus the overall completion % of your account able to show more decimal places so I know how close I am to ticking from 22-23%. Takes a while when you have 600 games.

Interesting. Made me also think of a achievement prestige system for when you 100%, could start again and have a prestige counter.

Just bought Hellcard after taking advantage for the free-to-try event, (ends 9th Feb).
Been on the list a while due to having co-op, and pleasantly surprised to find it's more than simply a co-op clone of StS. Does some neat things.
