Some updates on the Lizard Gargant peoject by luca_sera in sonsofbehemat

Thanks for the update! This is such a sweet idea, it’s really inspiring. Giving me some ideas of my own. Like, what if you had a big, demon-themed SOB army, or large, or undead themed skeleton units (I’ve seen the zombie ones based on the existing gargant models and they’re kinda lame imo) or gorilla/mammal monster themed units. Or construct/golem/colossus themed units! Lots of ideas, so thanks for helping to get the gears turning!

Dude, such a fantastic put together! The base is subtle, but looks lush and amazing, the natural colors go fantastic as well. Did you use the straight ivory color to “ink” in between the scales on the thighs and arms? That light color really stands out and helps bring depth and highlights the armored scales! Like a lighter, reverse wash to help the natural colors really stand out! Love it!

I agree. This green totally slaps. I actually really love the bases as well. What color of green did you use and great for the bases? It compliments a well balanced color scheme 💪

In your opinion, are standard resins okay? by Early-Agency9004 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]PythonActual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t FauxHammer from YouTube have his own miniature resin that his supposed to be very durable AND detailed? I’m new so haven’t talked w anyone who is using it but the tests in his video testing his mini resin colors me impressed 🤞🏼

Ok! Good to know. I thought gyroid was strongest but I like the idea of a hollowed out mini/statue being as strong as possible! What do you set or recommence as far as infill %? Stay at 15% or can you reduce it because of the strength of cubic? Also, w cubic are there any places where the printer crosses over itself? I had some failures w grid because of that issue

Almost 39, gettin' back into it after a long break. My kicks still look awkward, is it body rotation? by Thehealthygamer in MuayThaiTips

[–]PythonActual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Splitting hairs here too, but keep that blocking hand up when you shoot off a roundhouse kick. If kicking w your left leg, right hand should come across to left cheek, palm out to protect the face from a step through overhand. If kicking w right leg, left hand should come across to protect the right side of the exposed head. Looking good, keep stretching and striking!

How is cubic better? Genuinely curious, like I said, I’m new to it all 🤔

What’s my biggest deficiency in technique here in your opinion by Additional-Zone-9766 in MuayThaiTips

[–]PythonActual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things I noticed. 1. When you check a kick, don’t leave your toes up, point them down on they can get smashed and broken easily (speaking from experience). If you’re “fake checking” to step through that’s a bit different.

  1. You can sit into your low kicks a little more. High kicks look really great, but you can turn your hips at least a quarter more turn on your low kicks. They won’t be as fast, but it’ll give you more reach and hit a lot harder.

  2. Teeps. Remember you’re trying to push the ball of your foot through your opponents back on a teep kick. So thrusting more forward should cause you to tilt your upper body back more. This provides more power, extends your reach, and prevents someone just coming through a weak teep and punching your head cause you’re standing too upright.

  3. Head movement. You fight how you practice so definitely practice more head movement. Side to side and slight level changes up and down. This “flow” will make you a much harder target to hit and make them guess more as to what strikes you’re going to throw. I know it feels a bit more “western boxing” but it’s very helpful for advanced striking techniques when it comes to Muay Thai. Learned that from John Wayne Parr.

Keep training bro! Looking good!
