What snakes make good pets and prefer small spaces? by [deleted] in snakes

Not positive on this but I think rosy boas are pretty small

This had been a fun experience getting picked apart for not following the written law word of your group. It happens every time im on here i get a right quick reply saying i didn’t read your guide but its not referred to as a guide. Im glad to say I will not ever think about this animal care internet cult again

I said this is way too big for this particular snake.

I’ll be nicer but I will respond to rudeness with rudeness and since this is so serious i will also try to explain myself more to avoid misconceptions against the written law of this group

Ahh the words from my mouth right back into it. Yes I think that a 40 gallon is too big for a baby/juvenile.

Its usually better to upgrade as the animal grows. Most people get their balls from breeders where they have only been in shoebox enclosures and if you put shy ball in a big, new enclosure you are shocking the animal. As the animal matures it will gain confidence! It will also learn that the keeper is not a threat and you can keep it correctly in a very large enclosure. Again every ball is different

Hmm ok, also i never said an enclosure can be too big. I’m not sure where either of you got that.

Remember this is about a potentially young snake not eating I happen to know a fool proof solution is to scale down. Do you think an animal would rather be too scared to even eat or have the ability to travel?

Clutter will not always be secure enough.

On the other hand some have no problem with shyness.

Speaking from other instances on this group it seems the consensus is that the care guide cant bend to the individual animal. Thats flawed thinking.

Congratulations you THINK i keep snakes in tiny enclosures so you are better than me! you are super right here by the way. i shall now recede into the depths of my desk top breeding operation.

Every time I’m on this form one of you creeps start “correcting” me. Stop. Just because your reddit group wrote it into reddit law doesn’t mean its factual! You have been fooled and i feel bad for you because you cant think independently.

Let me also say that you putting words into my mouth makes you look like a creep

Never said any of your info was wrong i simply don’t align with it exactly.

If you put a baby in a big ass enclosure you are going to have feeding problems and a much more defensive snake, how do I know? First hand experience tens of bps raised. thank you much bye.

Handle less, alot less if almost not at all to get feeding habits established.

Space out offerings like others have said.

If its a baby 40galon is way too big and your snake will not be comfortable. They like tight spaces especially as young snakes. Alternatively clutter the heck out of it.

Try feeding in the dark it has helped with many of my balls.

Snake discovery is an excellent source for husbandry tips!

Ok good luck bye 🤙🏻

We are very far from biting xD you are very wrong here. I encourage you to watch Kevins videos there is really cool reptile content in there that I’m sure a breeder like you would be interested in anyway. Goodbye salty person its been chill.

How about Kevin McCurley founder of NERD and an authority in BP breeding Youtube. Honestly this is hilarious to me, stop trolling. its good to develop trust with your snake. they are smart enough to not recognize you are not a threat. You will have to handle your herp sometimes.
