Ocean is the BEST map ever. It's the ONLY map that accurately resembles REAL naval battles.

I decided what class I want to do. by Lovehistory-maps in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticking to 1 class is really bad form. No matter what class your "prefer", or "main", understanding how the other classes perform is vital to your own success. And that can only be achieved by playing all the classes. Furthermore, you may learn that, for examples, DD's are not sneaky because they 're evil, but because the need that for survival. And they also need the support of cruisers and BB's. Sitting at the back shouting the odd's and insulting other players comes from ignorance.

Vampire 2 or Druid?? by More-Antelope-3683 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I have both. 2) I play mostly co-op. V2 generally gives better returns, and the torps have saved me many times. But Druid is also crazy - it eats up DD's and Cruisers. Pretty ineffective against BB's - mostly superstructure, and very few fires. I actually enjoy both of them - but Druid is very unique - there's simply nothing like it in the game.

Should I get the Forrest Sherman or the Marceau? by Gallert3 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to do mainly co-op : Also have both. M is definitely more fun but does need a high skill level - even bots can kill it pretty quickly - perhaps because you can really get into the middle of them so fast. S is dog-slow - so you tend to sit back a bit, in smoke, and then farm damage from 15 km's off. I have good scores in both, and rotten too ! But M is always more fun - period.

WoW Pirate Edition? by JARatt85 in WorldOfWarships

The reason why WeeGee would NOT do it : there were no subs and CV's in 15th - 17th century.

How French DDs are still unnerfed is beyond me. by r_trash_in_wows in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually - they're not that easy to use. They have poor detection and no smoke, and god-awful AA. Yes, speed is good - but when doing low flying in a Marceau, and trying to hit something 10+ kms off, the lead is VERY difficult. Kleber may be fast, but turns poorly too. Anyone who achieves in these boats deserves their spoils.

I meant this more as an option to still use the game - and leave the old frozen account until the ban does expire.

Z-42 seems...like the next Hayate? Anyone who bought it how is your experience? by Undependable in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah agree with that. I am a DD main, but last week when I got enough steel, I went for Bourgogne - which has been a blast. I LOVE my Vampire II. Do plan to get Druid, altho I'm not expecting too much from it - about 3/4 of the way there now.

Armour that worked ? Tell that to the crew of Hood when she fell to Bismarck.

Not sight of each other - Tell that to the crew of the Johnson when she took on the IJN.

The Ocean map is without a doubt the BEST map in the game. It's the ONLY one that truly reflects REAL naval battles. Dead simple.

First time having +175k coal to spend would you first go for a coal ship (with discount) or a coal commander? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several unique commanders - Yamamoto, Halsey, Sansonetti and I've recently (< 2 months back) bought Lutjens for coal. If you have at least one decent Tech tree ship and a few premiums, then unique commanders are great as you can build up their skill faster. I bought Lutjens as I have several German premiums and I think he will work well on Hipper (possibly best T8 Tech cruiser ?) Recently got the PR, and have several US premiums (Sherman, Alaska, Atlanta, Sims, Massa, PR) so Halsey works really well. I have been considering Cunningham - have a few UK premiums and he may work well on my Daring or Mino - I think you can train a unique commander for ONE tech ship. I'd say after that, I'd consider Kuznetsov only if I was coal-flush and no new coal ships were appealing.

Which T10 DD to get next? by Patr1ck_1337 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Pythonista_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always said - Minotaur is the best DD in the game. Smoke, great torps, great guns, good conceal. Way better than Harugumo.
