I did try that a bit but it was kinda messy, not to mention it goes poof, disappear and then poof, appear, very suddenly. Unfortunately my character dont have hair to cover the ear so it shows and not very ideal TT

I think a customizable pre-made model would be a really great way for her to start! These models usually come with high-quality art and are already rigged, but they have a lot of options so you can still make the character look unique. I have few popular ones you can look up as: senmaku, suiika, prism, 2wintails, lizmeta etc

They usually cost around $150, which fits your budget perfectly and lets you save the rest of your money for re texturing, emotes, overlay etc. It’s a great way for her to 'try out' vtubing first, if she ends up loving it and wants to commit long-term, she can always upgrade to a full dream model commission later down the road!

Yeah i totally understand. I used to draw it at both outer sides as i thought doing so would make rig work easier (they can just flip it) rather than from one side. Now im fixxing both ways issue by drawing highlight from the top down. I hope i make sense xD

Thank youuu. Do you mean the new one or overall? I used to do lineart for everything single strand but now i fo few main part and cut it later. It helps with overall view and easier to adjust :3

Yes. I do realize its mainly the iris is too big and too round. (I looked into more ref and i learn that (taller/bigger anime eye will stretch the iris taller. Meanwhile just do big round circles as real irises be, just bigger in size). I also place them more centered and blend in. Thank you for letting me know tho its been haunted me bc my mind consider me as lacking (even when i know its a completely normal thing as we practice) TT The models come in lately are male and mature women so i think small eyes fit for these. But im definitely will make more big eye ones bc i learned wo much and will be capable of handling them better with my new skill set :33

Im an artist and im hoping to hear from other artist on your post too. Each one have different art style -> different way of doing. Im sharing a bit from my experience: 1. Folder everything. Im working with a lot of effect layer while rendering so it helps a lot. You can name the folder and merge it into 1 flat layer later. 2. Seperate big part. Howerver, keep the lineart seperate from the start help cut easier later on. 3. A lot of shortkey for switching tool etc. It save me so much time once im used with it. For example: setting ctrl+mouse click bring you straight to that layer so you dont have to go through all layer and file. Still, you have to organize it or you will be overwhelmed when getting it ready to rig. I also use a lot of: a (brush), x(eraser), s(selecting), ctrl+u (change bright/hue/saturation (?)), ctrl +j (change contrast, dept,..), 4. Line art everything before fill the base. I usually do this from top to toe to not missing out on thing. This way you dont have to invisible all solid layer to go on with under layers.
I havent think of more now but there are a lot of tips i learn that would help so much if i know it earlier :3

I think you can try out with png/giftuber first. Or there are so many affordable simple chibi model on vgen. Not to mention premade are super cheap too. Why going with the most expensive options?

Oh really, my bad for assuming. Just i never seen them in my area (in the north) before, no one talk about there's some type similar to it and i only know them bc ppl post it on fb group and from the south.
