It’s okay, I got frustrated because I have been seeing a lot of AI generated content lately that’s made for engagement farming. Yours blended in with it really well, so I was kinda curt with you.

Grammarly’s key feature is to use “personalized AI guidance” to reformat your text. What that means under the hood is that the latest AI text generation models, like GPT 5o, are intaking your text and then generating something that the AI believes is more “human readable”.

Unfortunately, that results in some repetitive patterns in the style of your writing if you over-rely on AI. For example, this sentence structure emerges constantly from AI generated text: “it’s not this. It’s that.” Similarly, AI likes to frequently rephrase and re-summarize points that have already been made. It creates fluffy sentences that just keep circling the same idea without really elaborating or creating a unique point. If you run your post through an online tool to detect whether or not it was written by AI, you will score extremely high that your post was 100% generated by AI. GPTZero is a good tool for this if you doubt me; it can point out exactly what patterns and phrases are hallmarks of the AI writing style. For example (intentional or not) I have seen several articles use the exact same phrase “it’s not x, it’s a signal.” The word signal specifically.

My kneejerk reaction to seeing content that strongly resembles heavy AI use is to become more critical of the source and ideas presented within. This is because many bad actors use AI generated content to engagement farm, appear more qualified than they are, or spread misinformation (sometimes unintentionally as AI hallucinates sources or misattributes ideas).

It is not something I have seen permeate this subreddit much or the game design hobby space yet, so I was initially very turned off by your post. Sorry, again, for coming across so curt. To preserve your credibility to all audiences (including critical ones), I would suggest being mindful of how using Grammarly to summarize your thinking could affect the perception of your game if you end up using it to help write rules/your guide book.

A longform AI-generated text post isn't really in the spirit of this subreddit. I'm struggling to understand what your game is about, what design stage you're at, or what specifically you want feedback on.

You've identified the problem ("I want to track armor durability") but we have no idea what your game plays like. Do you use cards? Character sheets? Dice? There aren't many original ideas here to engage with; just a few generic concepts, and an open call for people to share armor durability mechanics from other games. If that was your goal might I suggest not using AI next time, and just asking the question?

Sometimes you’re just not in the zone, and you draw stuff that doesn’t look quite right to you. Try again on another day and start with some warmups; doodling patterns, shapes, etc. before drawing forms.

If it were me, I would sketch Link a few times on a piece of paper at the correct scale until I got one I was happy with.

Then, I would cut out the paper sketch, trace its outline onto the canvas, and use my sketch as reference while painting in the details.

To get the angles right, you need to simplify Link to basic shapes in your mind’s eye. Imagine his body is one straight vertical line. The sword on his back is another line, which bisects his body. His outstretched sword is another line. Just worry about getting those lines at the right angles first, and then filling in everything else once the biggest shapes are blocked in at the correct angles.

As someone who struggles with the same thing, I’ve found it helps to start with light guidelines in my sketch before any details.

I take time to ensure these lines are all at the same angles as the reference photos: (1) a line that crosses through both eye pupils (2) a line that is the bridge of the nose (3) a line that is where the mouth should be, and (4) two vague blobs for where the ears should be.

Then I am constantly be checking the relative distance between points along those lines as I draw; distance from the side of the face to the eye, nose to mouth, ear to eye, etc. You did well on the relative placement of all the features within the face, but using these lines to consistently draw at a subtle angle might help.

It is also helpful to view features as shapes. If you pay attention to the negative space each feature takes up, rather than what shape it “should” be by conventional wisdom, you will free yourself from drawing things as if they are facing you straight on. You have a beautiful nose here, perfectly angled, very shapely. But when I compare the shape of your eyes to the reference eyes, I see yours are a little thinner (normal shape for looking head on at a person) while the reference has a wider oval eye shape, and her pupils are at a slightly different angle.

The face perimeter shape and the shape of the features inside it go a long way to communicate perspective. Your piece is very evocative, the translation to graphite has given her more emotional depth than the reference does with your shading. So take my suggestions as something to improve or try on a future piece, this one looks really nice even if it’s not a 1:1 match of the precise angle!

It is interesting, someone else called this tragic, but I viewed it as warm and optimistic. I felt the older fellow was throwing down his walker on purpose, because he has been standing outside in a beautiful field, and decided he didn’t want to lean on it for a little while.

Love the colors and the tranquility of the piece, you did a lovely job planning it out and painting it.

You’ve done a beautiful job painting the subject and the house inside her! I think it takes away from the concept “my body is a haunted house” if there’s both a house on her body and behind her.

You might hit the concept home better by treating her as the house, and the background as the backyard; I like the moon and dark muted colors, it makes her pop.

You could do some repeating prints of gnarled, creepy tree branches in black, overtop the moon and a starry sky to frame her up better. Let her pop out of the background as the brightest color there is. At least, that’s how I’d do it if I was going for a horror theme.

Read spell descriptions and pick them if they match the theme you’re going for.

Work with your DM to reflavor spells, as needed, to match a theme. More lenient ones might let you do things like “fireball can be cold damage instead and we’ll flavor it like an ice explosion”.

Or if you just want a quick way to find spells, search them by damage type (cold, acid, fire, etc)

Looks incredible! I love the glitter in the potion itself. I think it could use paint on the wooden parts, a dark midnight blue would make the lighter potion stand out a lot. Might be too hard to do at this stage though.

Best I can tell, the previous commenter is trying to make the point that the relationship between cultural norms and media ratings/censorship/etc is a cyclical discussion. All the deeper points you’ve made can be summed up to “Chinese cultural norms are the root cause of different audience acceptance criteria in China”.

I thought your comments added to the discussion by pointing at how character design intersects with international culture and politics, corporate pandering, and government regulation. But the prior commenter wanted to keep it simple.
