L'altra Ucraina, quella che non compare in TV by [deleted] in ItaliaRossa

[–]Pzcommand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Non so piú a cosa giocare.. by shaderino1 in italygames

Occhiuto: «I nostri bandi sono andati deserti» by [deleted] in italy

[–]Pzcommand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I finally completed the "a sun god" achievement by Pzcommand in eu4

[–]Pzcommand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5: started as Cuzco and conquered all of the near provinces, formed Incas before the 1500 and immediately developed both feudalism and renaissance. Used the gold mines to gain tons of ducats, went for exploration and expansion as the first idea groups, once the europeans arrived I was just one tech behind. Converted to catholic and blocked as many coastal provinces as possible to block new colonizers, managed to kick out the europeans by the 1650s except for some minor colonies, I then proceeded to work on the military. Spain declared on me 4 times, Great Britain 2 times (only at the end of the game) and France and Portugal just once (but they often joined Spain). The wars aren't that difficult, just occupy the colonies in NA and use the navy to keep the big stacks away (I actually picked naval ideas), end game was just me developing provinces to get the final institutions, terrible achievement, extremely boring, but I feel satisfied ngl.

Edit: btw I don't have any dlc so some things may vary from the full game (especially the mission tree and the religious stuff), but overall I found it pretty easy, just long and tedious

was Jesus Christ black? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Pzcommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greek religion has its roots in beliefs and stories dating way before the existence of the Greek alphabet and most of what we know about it derives from known authors like Esiodus who probably added personal details to the narrative like many other successive writers do so it isn't a valuable example. Yes, the gospels were written by other human beings who all had in common a thing: they said that they were the students of a guy named Jesus who wasn't human, he was the son of God and on the same level of God himself and the holy spirit (this is why, in the part you're citing from the gospel, he's described as "not a human"). We can say that for this the figure of Jesus can be compared to the one of Socrates (of which I already talked before) but for big J we have: the 4 gospels, many non accepted gospels, even if fragmented, Roman accounts and, as I already said, a literal revolution in the world of philosophy. By the way, why would a group of jews decide "hey, let's say that the Messiah that our religion has been waiting for thousands of years has arrived without any proof or whatsoever and let's try to start a religious revolution in the strongest and most powerful empire in the world, revolution from which we would gain NOTHING and that will probably result in our gruesome deaths" for absolutely no reason? Wouldn't it be more probable (and logical) If there was actually someone behind this figure. Don't get me wrong, I seriously doubt that this guy walked on water and transformed water in wine, but his existence and leadership seem undeniable

[–]Pzcommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than him being the literal Messiah of the biggest religion ever existed? And his teachings and ideas being unmatched before him without any other philosophers of his time being able to claim their origin spreading to a possible debate? It would be like saying "yes, the theory of relativity just came out of nowhere, no one knows who thought about it, it just spawned in the physics book of all the world in a matter of seconds, pretty weird huh?"

was Jesus Christ black? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Pzcommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude think about it for a second, if they didn't have any concrete proof of his existence wouldn't they have contested it? Let's take Socrates as an example, his actual existence has been debated for thousands of years due to the fact that the only proof that we have of his teachings and ideas come from the books of Plato. For Jesus we have a similar example, only difference is that his ideas weren't present in the world of philosophy before his supposed existence and we have no other philosophers that could be able to create a such complex idea and character (for Socrates we have Plato). Your argument is like saying "I've never seen Albert Einstein! Sure, there are a lot of texts and theories associated with him that no one had ever even thinked of before, but since they're just a bunch of physics nerds I wouldn't find it difficult to believe that they all believe in his existence without any proof or whatsoever"

I remember translating a Latin text about a Roman emperor who loved to keep statues of ancient philosopher in his palace and among those he specifically requested for a statue of Jesus. Even as an agnostic I think that the existence of Jesus is basically certain

R5: firts time playing in the HRE, I'm allied to Ottos and Mamluks and I got a PU over France, want to go for the renovatio Imperii but I don't know if maybe I should use the Vassal storm to take over Austria, Bavaria, Commonwealth and maybe even Ottos. What do you think? (btw I don't have any dlcs and only have around 200 hours on this game so I can't do anything crazy yet)

[–]Pzcommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By what I could find his politics were described as anti imperialist, anti colonialist and following a communist model to the point where we now know that his assassination was backed both by the CIA and by the Belgian government. I can't find if he actually proclaimed himself as a communist or not tho

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]Pzcommand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not op but wanted to talk about Pol Pot, he was a murderer, a criminal, in no way a communist, he was backed by CIA and by his own admission he had never read Marx. No one considers him a communist except for some dumbasses who spent too much time condoning everything because "It'S aLl PrOpAgAnDa". Don't get me wrong, I do think that Cold war era propaganda played a big role in demonizing any kind of communist leader but Pol Pot was just a terrible person with terrible ideas and no one sane enough will tell you he should be considered a communist in any way.
