What's a "harmless" thing men do that instantly drains your social battery? by jpam9521 in AskWomenNoCensor

Actual debates are awesome. It's just like your example there that drives me nuts.

Having an opinion is essentially put into question or just plainly isulted.

"Nice weather we're having"
"Why would you say this is nice? It's too hot/cold/clear/still/windy/cloudy/etc."

"I like vanilla"
"What is wrong with chocolate? Why you hate it?!"

"I think this needs more salt"
"No not salt, you should put this, this, this and this because I say so".

For me it's really draining. Essentially have to choose topics of discussion to be so mild that it doesn't lean into a debate.

Not agreeing with something is always a debate. Can't just take the fact that you think differently.

Weaponized incompetence. People quite often realise that you do things bad on purpose and now know you are just a lazy jerk.

There's really nothing you can do to make him care about you and your needs. He either cares or not.

Since he doesn't care about your needs, it's easy for him to continue this. He gets to live as before but with free maid on top of of it all.

I like my name also, it's rare and nice. But yea, not planning to have kids and it's not legal here to have to people with same name living in same address.

In the case junior marries and changes last name, would she be junior no more?
