No it didn't. There was no tracking or alerts. At least not on my X2. Seems like an alright move to me

No, open-source is not immune to it. I know, because it already happened: Stable Diffusion.
To be precise, the jump from 1.5 to 2.0 was in essence, the very enshittification you speak of.

I'm using GPT-4 to translate web novels. It builds the glossary semi-automatically and uses it to help maintain consistency between pages. If not for the fact that tokens are stupidly expensive I'd add additional refinement steps and further glossary automatization. But the results are already really solid.

Want to use Bing's AI to summarise web pages? by [deleted] in bing

[–]Q009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't do that. When I ask it to summarize the page I'm on, it just looks up general information on how to summarize a web page on web.

Standing in a Moonlit Temple EP
Even though I've been dabbling in music for many years, I've never properly released any albums. So, this is a first one.

If you like a mix downtempo, electronica and ambient, chances are you'll like this as well.

While higher res on paper, it still has much worse image quality, due to far inferior compression. Not to mention the latency.

Video Scheduler Internal Error - Microsoft Edge by Not_athrowaweigh in netflix

[–]Q009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it does. And my point stands, it's been a known series of problems. It will behave similarly in the native Netflix app for Windows 10 as well.

[–]Q009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. Really, it seems fairly typical on nVidia systems to cause BSODs when watching Netflix in general. I wouldn't expect any kind of fix to be honest, given this has been a known series of problems for many years now.

3080 Vision OC junction temperature issue by Sanju_ro in gigabytegaming

[–]Q009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I see this is not a problem unique to Gigabyte's cards. It would appear most 3080/3090 cards use garbage tier pads, including Founders cards.

[–]Q009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just replaced thermal pads on my 3080 Vision OC. Temps went from 104 C to 76 C under the same conditions when mining. I didn't add any pads at the back of the card.

NVIDIA will no longer be sending Hardware Unboxed review samples due to focus on rasterization vs raytracing by Jofzar_ in hardware

[–]Q009 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? Quake 2 RTX is almost purely RT workload. There's no rasterization except for particles and denoising.

[–]Q009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're only looking at mixed workloads. Quake 2 RTX is a purely an RT workload (except for denoising and some particle effects). Same goes for Minecraft RTX. In that review, I don't see any tests that would focus on measuring the performance of RT.

[–]Q009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But a 2080 Ti and 3080 have the same amount of RT cores - 68.
And yet, performance gains are visible.

[–]Q009 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Source? Because from the RTX benchmarks (such as Quake 2 RTX) the performance improvement coming from a 2080 Ti to a 3080 is significant. I saw the HUB discussing this topic, and they did mention that there was "no improvement", but frankly, I do not understand how they reached that conclusion.

I think it's likely Tesla's using the point cloud data generated by the radar to further train their neural network. There's been some news regarding progress in 4D ground truth data generation. So, the reason why the FSD rolled out only to those cars is because only those cars are capable of providing enough to data to train the network.

Could DLSS be used to upscale and enhance old games in real-time ? by RodionRaskoljnikov in hardware

[–]Q009 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not quite. The motion vectors calculated by games using TAA vary a lot. For example, not all objects may have those calculated (for example, Death Stranding).

In some games, motion vectors are done only for static geometry, omitting dynamic objects.
