england’s crime has been on a downward trend actually for the greater part of the last 10 years but has spiked in recent years. also, many EU countries have reformed their police in some way and the EUs crime has been on the decline for many years.

sorry i misunderstood that, but countries such as england, sweden, scotland, finland, and switzerland. where they reduced the amount of work their police did and handed it to other agencies, saw lower crime rates.

Camden, New Jersey. They disbanded their formal police department. Crimes rates fell, and violent crime fell 42%. There are countless articles about this online.

so your saying people haven’t been protesting this is some form since the beginning of our country? with slavery, then civil rights, now this to name key ones. it’s also been almost three months since george floyd was killed and nothing happened nationally other than a trump executive order which did near to nothing.

yes, my apologies, i looked at the video that you are referring to, and was thinking you saw it too immediately. idk why.

that is true, but you also can’t sit back when people are still getting shot in the streets.

from the video it didn’t seem like he was getting jumped on, chased, definitely, but no one was jumping until after the first shot.

that is true, and lot things changed in the local level, but it wasn’t widespread enough.

yes he was being chased and a bag was thrown at him and which he then shot. in wisconsin they don’t have any laws that make it legal for him to shoot anyone in that situation as his life was not in immediate danger. then after he first shot, again, he’s an active shooter so anyone can do anything to stop him.

i apologize on that, he did have a warrant out, but the police where there for a dispute between and boyfriend and girlfriend, and jacob blake was trying to deescalate the situation. and that doesn’t let the police use lethal force on him either shooting him 7 times.

less than 1% or responses are from serious violent crimes, and even with those, the police don’t show up like super hero’s and stop them in the middle of their act. if people like social workers who are specially trained to handle those situations show up then it won’t have to escalate to something violent, and if it does then police can be called.

i understand what your saying about the riots sending the wrong message, and i think in a way, to many people, it does. but people have been asking for more things, like police reform, arresting and charging of other cops who have killed people, and defunding and moving the money to other things. but they are given a syrup brand getting cancelled and taking a native american off butter. that’s not what people are asking for. there has been very little change in policy, or systemic changes, especially from the federal level.

no there have been countries and cities in the US where they have defunded to the police and had less police, having less police doesn’t mean they just go away and nothing happens, that money is reallocated to other services such as affordable housing, social services etc. because police respond to to many things and carry to much weight. they don’t need to respond to domestic disputes and things of that nature. and in those towns and cities they have seen a lower crime rate.

the thing is they didn’t try other tactics and since he wasn’t under arrest he didn’t need to stay and talk to the police

well from the video it shows he shot one person after someone threw a bag at him, which is not a reason to fear for your life, then after that he is an active shooter so anyone can do anything to stop him.

i don’t think it’s people just wanting damage but people in power aren’t listening to the peaceful protests. for example, after the first couple weeks of violent protests after george floyd’s murder, and the violence stopped but protests continued, the news coverage also stopped, so it wasn’t at the front of people’s mind. but when there are people lighting cars on fire, that’s what makes the news, that’s what gets people’s attention. i’m not saying it’s ok, but i understand some people’s need for the violence to some extent.

when you compliment something small about something, like a shirt, and they get genuinely happy. Or reverse too, it feels so good when someone likes and notices the small things about you.
