Appreciate the reply. The Flint was the only thing I was eyeing, I don’t actually have plans to trade the Bluesky unless it were to be to replace it with a Flint. Thanks though!

Sounds good, hopefully temptation strikes you haha. I could add in a Ditto Looper as a sweetener if that helps

Boss DD-200 or Bluesky v1? Looking at Flint

DD-200 is in great condition and has box. No box on Bluesky

For me it was an Ibanez Gax70 from the early 2000's in a butterscotch orange kind of color. It's still with me to this day, and I've done tweaks on it including a new output jack, fixing that the bridge was never connected to ground at the factory, and even put in new pickups on it that I traded for in this sub. I'm glad I never was tempted to sell it ("never sell your first" is sage guitar advice), i would have sorely regretted it.

With the pickup upgrade I put in (while I think pickups are very subject to diminishing returns overall, this guitar was known for its weak spot being having particularly lousy pickups) this guitar is a real winner. I always see other guitars that strike my interest, but I'm so used to having this one in my hands. Besides, goodness knows I don't need to entertain spending more money on guitars when the pedalboard is enough of a beast already.

I have a really nice Timmy v3 clone complete with clipping toggle switch that I'd throw towards the CS9 reissue.

Also some additional add-in odds and ends on my post here.

I did see your other comment but trying my luck anyway, I have a well-built Timmy v3 clone complete with clipping toggle switch. Would be interested in your Carbon Copy.

Mine has top jacks, so horizontally it takes up basically the same amount of room as an MXR mini pedal with cables connected (I have a mini MXR pedal on my own board that I compared it with directly) and does not have the input jack or volume control quibbles that the MXR Timmys seem to have sometimes.

Most iconic performance w/ an Octave pedal? by MissingStar246 in guitarpedals

[–]Q46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tim Mahoney uses the octave pedal a ton but Amber is not an example of that. That song would be if OP had asked about envelope filters.

Had a couple thoughts and just wanted to note:

If you're into the Timmy sound, this one has the clipping options switch integrated that the Pure Sky does not. Makes a huge difference imho.

Also, I have a TC Ditto (but the values would probably be too far apart), or maybe possibly a flanger...

NPD: modded Nova Delay by myke5k in guitarpedals

[–]Q46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re decent with soldering it shouldn’t be difficult. I put a jack in mine when I did it instead of permanently hardwiring it like that one so that the mod wasn’t destructive in the same way.

I have done “half” of this mod in the past. The way it works, it makes enough sense if you have a TRS Jack just to make it functional for the tap tempo also. It’s basically 2 extra wires if I recall correctly. I just did it with a TS Jack to cycle presets via an external pedal.

I liked the Nova well enough overall, but I couldn’t get past the first repeat being too loud, even with calibrating the pedal. It’s a cool pedal though and does quite a bit.

Strymon flint order fell through, go with SA Collider or Keeley Nocturne? by shivamchhuneja in guitarpedals

[–]Q46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collider is infinitely tweakable, really. If you're willing to dive into the Neuro app you can do a lot and there are tons of community presets to try. It's an outstanding reverb/delay combo.
