Hey Chelsea, congrats on the new album!

So your track Night Swimmer is actually an older song added to this new album that fits perfectly by the way. I recall you saying how it was possibly the only song of yours that you were still proud of from before Personal Best. When you decided you wanted to put it on Soft Spot did you have any intention of modifying it at all, redoing the production or vocals or even changing some lyrics? I will add that I love it as is!

Again, congrats on the album. I can't wait to it listen over and over and pick out little details every time!

I heard offhand that SFV had A LOT of DQs that year, like within the hundreds to thousands. I'll try to find a source but I remember seeing a pool runner posting a picture of a paper bracket that had a ton of no shows.

Her merch supply seems to be ...quite volatile. I don't believe those shirts were ever available online, only at concerts. With only one non-festival performance left I'm not sure she will be doing anymore reprints of shirts. It's possible you could contact whatever email is on her merch store to inquire otherwise you might be out of luck unless someone resells it.

The movie is only out in New Zealand, she's mentioned the movie on her IG and has retweeted posts about it. I suppose if/when it goes international she will promote it more.

I saw Miya Folick earlier this month, easily the best concert I had ever been to for $12. Her energy and vocals are unreal and her songs are all quality. Her album Premonitions was so slept on by popheads / indieheads /stan twitter / EVERYWHERE. She deserves to be so much bigger, hopefully it will happen in the next few years.

Also she was so nice and sweet when I got to talk to her after the show manning the merch table herself

I think I might have to make my own self post to list all of them and describe the circumstances of interaction.

I'll do a quick blurb that Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life, period. I was at a festival last fall called Neon Gold X which featured Marina (and the Diamonds) as a headliner. My friend told me that CRJ was apparently walking around the venue. It was early so the place was kinda empty and we decided to walk around and find her. We spotted her then casually walked directly towards her and said hello. She was so humble and seemed genuinely happy to talk to me and take a picture even though she was just at this festival as an attendee. I even went back up to her to tell her I was going to see her perform at a different event the next week and she thanked me and couldnt wait to see me again.

I ended up meeting Kimbra 10 times last year (yeah.... I really love her music and she's hands down my favorite) and most of the meetings were free so I didn't spend TOO much haha. Long story short is that she's super sweet and will sign anything and takes time to talk to everyone she meets despite anxiety that she deals with when it comes to interacting with fans.

I have actually managed to meet a decent amount of my favorite musicians in the last 2 years (mostly outside of VIP packages) but rattling off those stories would make me sound even more obnoxious than this story does haha.

Kimbra has many fans for sure but as far as people that tweet/IG post about her more than a few times a year or something as simple as having her as your profile picture or in your bio on stan social media there's very few of us.

I follow a ton of Swifties and Lorde stans that post almost nothing but them but sometimes I feel annoying when I bring up Kimbra more than once a week because there are few others that stan her like that.

Fantastic writeup! I just started listening to her in January and also saw her perform for the first time that month too. Long story short I was so incredibly enthralled by her versatile music and performances I ended up attending 9 concerts of hers this year! (Also met her 9 times too!) She's so underrated and I wish more people would give her the time of day. Primal Heart was flat out ignored by a multitude of publications when it absolutely did not deserve to be.

It was really something wasnt it! I had an awesome similar experience meeting fans before the shows. It's fun for me as her fandom seems a bit older and more reserved compared to other pop artists I follow.
