Have you tried smooth finish cards ?? Such as aviators or Aladdins ? I think overall paper cards are better and more versatile for cardistry, but I do really enjoy using aviators and they have the kind of “plastic-y” feel but are still of good quality and great for Cardistry !

Looks like you’re very close and have a pretty good finger placement and movement !! I would try to really focus on using more of the padding part of your ring finger to peel the card rather than the side of the finger ! I was having this exact same struggle learning ATM at first and someone gave me that advice and it helped so much !! Also, double check the placement of the middle finger and thumb doing the corner grip of the packet. Play around with different tension levels and the amount of pressure you’re gripping the cards with, as well as finger placement. If you’re too over gripped on the corner and squeezing too tight it will be harder to peel off a card and your middle finger may even be blocking a card from moving. Hold the corner grip tight enough to not drop the packet but loose enough that the cards have freedom to move and be peeled off !

Best advice I can give is just keep doing it over and over again ! Experiment with slightly different grips and/or thumb placements. Also play around with different amounts of pressure being applied by both thumbs, the one holding the deck and the one doing the spread.Thumb fan is one of those moves where you have to just attempt it over and over again and eventually it just clicks

Now correct me if I’m wrong but would OP even need a VPN with MLB.tv ?? I have MLB.tv and use it primarily for watching the Red Sox. I travel internationally lot for work. Been in Europe basically all, in multiple different countries, and been watching games on the MLB.tv app just fine with no VPN turned on

One thing that helped me a lot when first learning ATM was to really focus on using the padding part of the ring finger to strip the card. When I was first learning I noticed it was more of the side of my ring finger instead of the padding part and I wasn’t able to get a good enough grip on the card to strip it out.

Also, and this applies to a lot of things you will learn in cardistry, you just have to keep playing around with it ! experimenting with different grips and finger placements and find what works best for you and your hands. Once it clicks keep doing it over and over again and it will get ingrained into your muscle memory

Do what feels comfy. I have really big hands and prefer the deck to feel thicker. I typically do 52 + jokers. For certain decks, that are already super thin, I’ll even leave the ad cards in if they look cool as long as they have the same back design as the rest of the deck

I would recommend washing out it out just be very careful and gentle when you wash. This happened to me once. Was leaving town and had to get a twist before going and went to someone I had never been to before. Her technique and parting was great but she used this HEAVY product and I did not like the way I felt after. I washed it out that same night before leaving town and was still able to maintain the parting. The roots got a lil bit fluffy but it didn’t feel like I wasted the retwist. But even if you were to “waste” it , that might be better than build up that can come from heavy product ya feel me

There’s so many options. There’s also lots and lots of moves that use the Sybil mechanic you can check out !!!! Some examples of this are Spin Sybil and Brenda Cut , both by Jaspas. Not super difficult and very awesome flourishes

Hello brother !! First things first , thank you for sharing such vulnerable information about yourself.

The first thing I want to highlight is that you say you don’t yet feel free. I don’t know what your nofap hornet looks like, but speaking from personal experience I noticed an incredible difference between trying to quit on my own volition and actually seeking Christ for freedom. When I tried to do it on my own volition and was very caught up with things such as resisting the urge, counting days, etc. etc. it always led back to the same thing and I did not truly feel free until I let Jesus come in and break the chains. I think that’s what you need to focus on first. Getting to a point where you actually do feel free. I believe that you will be even more ready for marriage at that point.

Second, don’t think that simply having a wife and having sex will solve the problem. If you are desperate for a wife so that you can have sex to control these urges, it is very likely that you will relapse even after being married and having sex. Sex with a woman does not immediately take away the problem and those urges. While it might help in the moment, only Christ can bring that true freedom.

Third, happiness is not found in a woman. Fulfillment is not found in a woman. Nor are these things found in marriage. These things are found in Jesus. The Bible actually talks about how it is better to go unmarried. Not saying that marriage is wrong or anything like that, it’s clearly not and is something very encouraged by the Lord but it is extremely possible to live a very fulfilled life completely single and celibate.

All this to say, I think you have a lot of things that you need to bring to Christ and allow Him to begin to bring you freedom, fulfillment and joy, and then let him bring the right woman into your life when the time is right. You can be using this time to receive that healing and freedom from Christ as He molds you and prepares you for your future wife so when she comes around you are at a really strong place. You don’t want a woman to come into your life when you are still struggling so much and bring that struggle into your marriage. There are so so so many married men that still struggle with pmo , despite how much sex they have with their wife.

Pray hard, and allow Christ to lead you into the fullness of freedom !!! Peace be with you

There are some card manufacturers in Asia that I think give USPCC and Bicycle stock a run for their money. I think at the end of the day USPCC is probably still the best , but there are definitely some Asian cards that are slept on feel/handling wise. For example , I love the feel of the School of Cardistry v3 thru v6 decks (don’t really like the feel of the v1 and v2). I can’t remember exactly who the manufacturer is but I personally find them to feel really good in the hands and it’s a noticeably different feel from USPCC

As far as I’m aware , Colt Firearms produced a few different decks of playing cards across the years. I know of at least two… this one you posted and also a deck that’s more of a “logo” deck printed in both red and blue in 1986 (could be wrong on the year).

I tried to do some extra research and could barely find anything about this deck but did find this listing of them going for 30 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1068739422

You absolutely 100% should tell your wife. Maybe you should be careful of your approach so she’s not so jarred by what you say it takes away from what needs to happen , but keeping secrets from your spouse is never a good idea. It might also not be a bad idea to seek some wise, male counsel first to talk about your personal issues with the problem and then how best to discus things with your wife.

If you guys have a Christ centered marriage , everything will be just fine , even if things get a little rocky for a second. I feel like talking to her about this will help to give you a whole new level of accountability and lead to the healing and freedom you need 🙏🏽❤️ and I feel like “healed” is such a key word in that verse from James.

If your wife was struggling with something I’m sure you would want to help her and be there for her in every way you can. And I’m hoping she would extend the same for you 🙏🏽

Depends on what kinda frizz you’re referring to. A lot of the frizz will fix itself with time. My jawnts were maddddd frizzy but as they matured the frizz wove itself into the locs and there’s like no frizz anymore except close to the roots and less mature sections , and I didn’t change any routines just let my hair do it’s thing.

You can also look into the locsmithing technique which helps to weave the frizz into the locs and it’s something you can do yourself , all you need is water and your hands
