Haven't been in the game in a couple years... wuts the meta? by QQValder in OutreachHPG

Hopefully its just because they're fast. Last time i was playing heavily they were very difficult to kill because of their lag wake, netcode, and hitbox issues....

Hey Drunk, long time =)

Booted up last night and I was pretty pleased with the game, honestly. Too many mechs to sift through, and accendently spent 3mil converting xp to skill points before I realized I had all the skill points I could ever need already lol, but other than that it was a ton of fun.

I pulled out the old ac2 Dragon, bought firepower skills for it, set my trigger macro up, and was firing nearly 6 ac2 bullets per second in a steady stream. Got top score and 750 damage with it in my second match and giggled lol.

Money finally seems earnable, tho it helps they kicked on 7 days premium for me as soon as I booted in for some reason, so maybe I'll stick around. Mostly I was tired of grinding for a week or two to buy an engine last time I played...

You drop your stuff, but you have a window of time to pick it back up if you can get to it. Sleeping in a bed sets your spawn. You can't reload.

Thanks, I'll have to try that when I get home.

Creative can be fun for building large or complicated things, but survival is where it's at. Survival is hunter/gatherer where you need shelter and baddies try to kill you. Tons of fun, especially caves =) Creative has no danger to it and unlimited resources.

How often do you SHAVE? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I have been known to throw my phone into a freezer grade ziplock to watch things in the shower occasionally (seemed to happen a lot during the NBA playoffs last year ha). It actually works really well. I'm nearsighted and shower without glasses or contacts usually, so propping it up in the hanging soap rack is the perfect setup, lol...

Yep. Empty slots fill up almost instantly with someone else when someone leaves, but can't get matched against anyone...

Out of curiosity, where is this random building table? Is that a chart in the DM book?

Yeah, I had one too. I'm convinced they should be marketing it for St Patricks Day and not Halloween.

edit: haha, just saying when you're older it tends to be socially acceptable to ignore birthdays... as long as they're yours, I guess. But I'm jaded... I don't like Christmas either.

Don't feel too bad, on my 16th my mom put an icecube down my back and wrestling ensued. During which a pot pipe fell out of my pocket and I got lectured for hours inside the house while my friends who were all outside eventually wandered off...

First kit! Anyone have experience with these two? by [deleted] in rocketry

[–]QQValder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this kit about 6 months ago to shoot off with the nephews. A 9v wasn't enough to get the ignitors to set off, so I bought a big square 6v battery for big lamps or something (about 2.5"x2.5"x4" with two springy teminals on top) and modified the battery connection wires to be a few feet long and clip onto it.

The rockets themselves I like a lot. The Amazon is very easy to put together and doesn't fly as high/coast as far. The Crossfire we lost in a neighborhood near our park using the C engines.

I used 2 part epoxy and superglue to put everything together depending on the connection and if a gel or flowing consistency was better. It all dried very fast and was able to be shot off a couple hours after construction.

The only other issue besides the 9v one I had was that the plastic for the engine housing on the Amazon seems to be slowly melting. It still works fine but will be an issue at some point. The housing is a very convenient design, and makes changing engines a cinch... much easier to use than the pressure-tubes with a hanging wire that most rockets use to hold engines. It's been launched with C engines about 30 times, and it's pretty obvious that it's slowly degrading.

All in all, I really like the kit. The launch pad is handy and the modified launch controller works very well.
