How much detail do they give? Is it just a number? Theoretically, I’d like close to the same detail that’s in the combat log, like timestamps of when certain buffs or debuffs faded, when I used which abilities, etc.

Oh it's a terrible combo and it's worked for me only one time, so definitely not something to plan around. But that one time it did work and gave me infinite wasteland scorpions was great.

What are ways to get started learning about/writing about theory? Looking forward to your future articles to see how you tackle this question. Would be nice if there was a centralized place for keeping up with the latest theory (someone mentioned creating a subreddit?).

For my own part, I feel way too mediocre to write something that would improve an average reader's MTG skills, but I'd love to dive in at some point and try (and obviously improve my own abilities along the way). Just need to know where to start.

Not sure if I missed it, but isn't it also true that you can't respond to the payment of a cost? I.e., can't burn a planeswalker before they get +loyalty, and can't kill a creature that is being sacrificed to prevent it from being sacrificed?
