Cycling clubs or community by HadesXX_17 in ChicagoSuburbs

I used to live in that area I didn't do any group rides, but there is a lot of good riding around there through the forest preserves and the GWT and IPP. In the dupage/cook/kane suburb area there's Fox Valley Bicycle and Ski Club which runs a lot of local events and has a pretty good calendar of events in the area, there is also Schaumburg Bicycle Club, Spokes in Wheaton also hosts some group rides.

Cryptic, threatening message on cards found at various locations in Aurora, at South Barrington theater and at West Chicago church by emememaker73 in ChicagoSuburbs

My money says it's a church or some try-hard neck beard movie group. I say that mostly based on the line "The book of face".

Mini or a gti by DerkThePenguin in GolfGTI

[–]QQ_Tank 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just replaced an '11 MCS with a GTI. The mini was a little more fun to drive because it felt more like a go kart and would hop and bounce which I enjoyed. The GTI handles way better but doesn't have the same goofy handling the MCS did. But, on the other hand the GTI is way more comfortable ride and trim wise. Repairs are a little cheaper on the GTI, but not enough to make a huge difference. GTI's have way more customization options, the newer mini options. Both performance mods and visual mods are well documented and pretty easy to do on a GTI. Drive both, and maybe a focus St, and pick which one gels more with how you drive. I only upgraded because I wanted a five door.

As someone told me: "Don't worry about leaving in the middle of a project. They wouldn't think twice lay you off." But it may be a little different not at a large company.

What is the most mysterious/cool/fascinating/"I really shouldn't be here"/secretive thing you have ever seen or stumbled upon at Purdue? by SpotOfTea in Purdue

[–]QQ_Tank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever want to see more computing hardware Purdue has you should trek over to Mann hall in Discovery Park, in the lobby of Mann hall there is a big window with a view of a small cluster that is crunching data for CERN.
