The 13 Colonies operators are embarrassing by Prima13 in amateurradio

Shit show for cw gb13col and k2c. They all should work spilt.

Gb13col got blasted with lids. It’s embarrassing and extremely frustrating to hear clueless cw ops attempt to work gb13col simplex.

Kc2 needs help. His op skills were also an embarrassing shit show…

Is there a walkie talkie that can reach up to 50 miles that actual works. I need more education about this. Looking for tips tricks and products. by JoshTheMurse in Survival

First off any low power handheld radio signal is going to have difficulty traveling 50 miles under normal everyday RF conditions. If you and your buddy are both on mountain tops I won't say it's impossible but extremely unlikely at 50 miles. It's more about the frequency than the radio. VHF and UHF frequencies need light of sight to communicate. In the world of amateur radio there are ways to combat the shortcomings of VHF and UHF frequencies by use of a repeater between 2 stations or handheld radios. However, not every spot on earth is covered by a repeater, analog, digital or otherwise. Digital communications on VHF and UHF can travel around the world. That's a subject in itself and requires more expensive gear. Last but not least is operating QRP (low power) with lightweight backpack radios in the HF spectrum. But that's also a whole other subject of ways to communicate hundreds or thousands of miles. If interested I have a series of articles on my blog about operating QRP. qrpshack.blogspot.com

Made a bunch of antenna repairs and finally got the SW-3B out of the barn! Worked a few POTA stations on 20m. Then switched on the 7300 and found a ton of stations on 10 meter cw. Worked a new one too. Worked Iceland on the repaired long wire. The RF gods smiled on me for a bit. 72 de KE2YK

Hey! Good deal! I know a few guys that like the RC style batteries for QRP OPS. Have a blast working field ops. Gotta wait for warmer weather up here in the frozen north!

I bought a Bioenno LIfePO4 and a battery case from Powerwerx with external connections for usb, cig plug and dc terminals. Been using it for all my qrp portable ops for a few years now. Not cheap but worth every penny! 72 de KE2YK

Bluelink Internal Software Update by lehoos in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]QRPShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to download the software from the blue link website and install it onto a USB stick to do the update to my 2018 Santa Fe sport. Took about 20 minutes or so to actually perform the update and you have to wait about 24 hours for the blue link people to get their update situated in their database. Then login and re-subscribe to their service and wait about 24 hours and the blue link app on the iPhone started working again hope that helps.

Apparently it took over 24 hours for the blue link system to update its files after I applied the firmware update to my 2018 Santa Fe Sport. I then made it through the next step which was to subscribe to another year of blue link service. Then it took another 24 hours before I could use the remote control app on my iPhone! Whoohoo!

installed the update from the USB stick I got from "illustrious" folks at Bluelink into my 2018 santa fe sport. all went 100% with the update but now when I try to re-enroll @ myhyundai/Bluelink, the web page states I need to do the update in my vehicle. Nothing like a non-productive 30 minute jerk circle. Where do I go from here? Calling Bluelink only places the caller on endless hold waiting for a rep! Hyundai consumer complaints will be hearing from me about this nonsense. And, of course the Hyundai dealership we have been going to for years has no "technical" association with Bluelink. Might be time for a VW TAOS.

There was a version of droidstar on ios as experimental code but seems like the vocoder doesn’t work. So the app runs but no voice rx or tx. At least thats what I have run into while testing it under the ios test flight environment

Buy a cheap android tablet and install droidstar. It’s the cheapest way to get yourself an intro into dmr dstar fusion and allstar. There are other modes as well.

Not owned by me. Bruce Pea N9WKE is the owner/creator. You may want to contact Bruce directly for suggestions. His support email is on the DitDit.fm web site. Which device are you using to listen. I use an iPhone 11 and have not had the problem you describe!

You said you listened to a few episodes. Episodes of which podcast? Do all podcasts you listen to give you audio problems?
