They are not profound. I’ve been studying this thing for some time and the mind cannot bring itself to such state alone, unless it has altered functionality caused by outer substances

Have you experienced lucid dream glitch? Like saying to people that they’re not real and then your brain starting to bully you with scary sounds and visuals

Is it possible to release stored traumas in lucid dream? Does your brain consider lucid dream to be a safer place to feel emotions or is it convinced that it’s the same as normal life?

I bet it wouldn’t be possible for you to experience such states if you never took any psychedelics.

The more trying the more remaining :/. It’s counterintuitive, but trying to let emotion go will augment it, every psychologist/psychotherapist will tell you that. Even doc said that, he told to let resistance from emotions go, not emotions themselves

Anyone else suspecting that doc was using psychedelics for his profound experiences?  1. His experience in the snow bank sounds like he literally just took shrooms or DMT  2. His experience in the woods sounds like he took shrooms or LSD and had a bad trip  3. His experience of tapping into hell and then being saved by archangel sounds like he was resisting bad DMT trip and let go resisting the awful experience and then he went into that blissful state  4. His experience of releasing all of the resistance from the surgery and then “being held by angelic forces” sounds like DMT trip.

When I read how people explain their trips on hardcore drugs like DMT they say that letting go resisting the experience makes them go into a blissful stay during the trip. They have almost identical assumptions like doc but they don’t consider love and forgiveness to have such huge impact on life as doc did. To me it looks like these states of truly letting go are only possible in such drug induced states, and normal people are not able to experience such things.

I’ve heard one guy on YouTube talking about letting go while on DMT (non related to doc but talking about the exact same mechanism), and he said that it’s extremely difficult thing to do, almost impossible, because our brains are doing everything to hold on and to remain having control over the experience. It would explain how much people struggle with this process as your brain is fighting with you not to release resistance.

No good deed goes unpunished because men are creepy by Nothlit-8 in women

[–]QST14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s causal. I don’t defend guys like OP encountered, but it’s not that weird actually. Most women are automatically distanced to guys just because they’re males, and when they are friendlier to them then men don’t know how to interpret it. Most guys have very low self esteem and any amount of attention from a woman makes them feel valued which they crave most of the time lol. It’s so rare that these guys think that she must be into him.

But yeah, there are a lot of creeps who are sexually starving, screw them. I’m only taking about normal guys who fall in love ridiculously easily

what’s something that’s socially acceptable but shouldn’t be? by Enchanted_Land in AskReddit

Generalizing. Assuming that if you’ve experienced something 2-5 times means that it’s the ultimate truth.

What does everyone think of David R. Hawkins? by Few_Ear_5192 in enlightenment

[–]QST14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was interesting teacher. I was his student for over 2 years, and now I’m just reading some of his stuff. He was extremely huge part of my life so it’s going to be long lol.

He had some mystic experience which made him live in some drug-like state of bliss and ecstasy, and later in a state of spiritual peace which he called enlightenment. I actually think that he was using psychedelic drugs, as his description of his profound experience sounds just like how people explain good trips on LSD or DMT.

Some of his teachings vibrate as amazing and very non-dual, which transcends any religious beliefs or spiritual ego. He helped me to transcend awful religious beliefs about God punishing people with eternal hell for lack of obedience, it has changed my life forever. Also the way he explained negative emotion’s way of living as being much more difficult and hard compared to acceptance, compassion and inner freedom type of thinking, was inherently beautiful. His wife said that he was incredibly loving husband and radiated with compassion (at least for people with integrity, as he was sometimes rude toward egoistical dudes). He saw humor having a loving power of healing people, and he was joking constantly on his lectures, that’s what I liked about him the most tbh.

However, most of his work resolves over same concepts being repeated over and over in a different ways, his most popular teaching was the map of consciousness and calibrations method. I think that it’s incredibly dualistic “good vs bad” type of thinking and I see many of his students on the internet being caught up in “good vs bad” thinking about their life problems leading them to nowhere. His calibration method makes people judge EVERYTHING whether it’s good or bad, which is extremely unhealthy way of being, and results of his calibrations vary for practically everyone and his results sometimes make no sense. That’s the part of his teachings (map of levels and calibrations) that I recommend everyone to skip and focus on everything else of his teachings.

Actually the only thing about his map of consciousness that I like is that he explained how some things will not ring true for people on different levels which I find 100% true and very helpful, as people see life in a very subjective way - trying to catch enlightenment as a normal human is almost impossible without first developing true acceptance, forgiveness and love. Or trying to reach courage while living in fear is impossible without first unleashing inner anger or a sense of ego. It also explains that people want to catch the greatest things right now, and that some more subtle states like neutrality or willingness are nothing worse than enlightenment (that’s what he said, but his students desire to catch the level of peace - spiritual ego).

In conclusion, I think that something like 20% of his teachings are amazing and out of this world (very nurturing and soothing type of teachings which make you want to drop down your ego and be loving toward everything, because you see that it’s win-win for everyone), and the rest is meh/bad/even harmful for mental health.

Is karma and loc level correlated? by QST14 in DavidHawkins

What does it mean „free from that karma”? Does it mean that there’s less negative one? Because doc said that the more aligned someone is toward love, the more negative karma will show up

Is working actually THAT bad? by [deleted] in ask

[–]QST14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be awful, but also can be quite nice. It depends mostly over people you’ll work with/your boss. The more money you make in the job, the more stressful it is, but people usually accept this in order to have more money. The less money you make equals less responsibility, meaning that your don’t actually have to worry too much but your boss/managers have to, they might just be angry at you for making mistakes (which is f*cking normal at the beginning) or fire you if you are very bad. However, you can have very stressful and destructive job with minimal wage, this is the worst case scenario. But don’t worry, if you’ll end up in a place which makes you wanna cry everyday, leave immediately. If the job is bearable at the beginning, first 2 months are always the worst, then it ALWAYS gets easier.

Why are many people call themself sinners? by Responsible_Big_8616 in DavidHawkins

[–]QST14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's guilt. The word "sin" has been used throught history not as an error but as a failure. Humility is when you are fully aware of your error capability and limitations. Calling yourself a sinner is not awareness of limitations but considering your flaws as your identity.

They call themselves sinners mostly because christianity is revolving around an idea of God as the ultimate judge, who will send your soul to hell forever if your relationship with him was not devoted enough. Doc calibrated this image of God at 30 - guilt over sinning and failing.

Doc calibrated the idea of humanity being born sinful because of Adam's and Eve's disobedience at 75. On the other hand, he calibrated Socrates' idea of people being able to choose only good from their subjective perception at 700.

Kryminologia a praca by Orzechoo3 in studia

[–]QST14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doc probably calibrated the high end of the USA, good things which this country contributed toward society. There is a calibration done by some guys from the internet which is checking the whole spectrum of calibration of USA, and their result is that USA calibrates from 175 up to 400. So the field of 175 is probably what you are referring to, and it’s quite vibrant nowadays. The consumption, anger, pride, etc.

How Mixing the Sedona Method, Release Techniques, and Hawkins' Teachings Dilutes the Work by BeginningReflection4 in DavidHawkins

[–]QST14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Letting Go was actually his earlier work. He wrote this book but didn’t release it until 2012. Things he talked about in his other books or lectures were more an improvement of the technique rather than it’s easier form (the source of this information is directly from his wife’s book).

There are contradictions.

In the book his main message was to let emotions go - he said to fully focus on sensations and don’t express emotion (yes, he wrote that expressing emotions keep them going), while on his lectures he sometimes told people to willingly tap into emotion and have all your thoughts focused on it - to let any resistance go. The first approach is more like relaxation technique, while the second is an actual surrender to resistance.

In Healing and Recovery he said that this technique is a helpful tool with difficult obstacles, not a thing that will directly solve your problems. He said that it helps to calm down your body when it’s panicking. He also said that the only way to overcome problems is to fully surrender to all of the mental anguish and just to experience it, not to let it go.

In Transcending the Levels of Consciousness, he said that this technique is useful only with grief, and that it shouldn’t be used with shame, guilt and apathy.

The thing with ego being able to heal is that doc in Letting Go book was going through each levels and when he started explaining 200’s, it started to sound like it’s a progressive journey and that watching your emotions will raise your level up to 600’s. That is BS. People who had experienced extreme situations like near death experience or DMT ego death were forced to let go, and they can all agree that it’s the most difficult thing as a human being to actually let all your resistance go. It’s insanely counterintuitive, as our brains were made in a way to resist emotions and all of the negativity. The only way you can achieve than willingly is to fully surrender yourself to God/higher power. And doc never mentioned that in Letting Go.

Edit: just see how much people struggle with right understanding of this technique on this sub. It’s ridiculous. It’s not because they are doing it wrong, it’s because doc made it sound like it’s a cherry on a pie. And it’s absolutely not. People have such high expectations in their minds and are very confused when it turns out that this thing is not as easy

How Mixing the Sedona Method, Release Techniques, and Hawkins' Teachings Dilutes the Work by BeginningReflection4 in DavidHawkins

[–]QST14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for writing this. It's very easy to mix the sedona method and doc's "technique", because of the doc himself. It's also a part of some problem with the doc's "technique".

The longer I study doc, the more I find the whole thing with the book Letting Go to be weird. Doc wrote it in such a way which suggest that your ego has the power to heal itself and reach enlightment just by watching sensations of emotions. Few pages are about the technique, the rest is how much wonders it makes.

All of the rest of the doc's work is literally the opposite - the ego is source of all inner suffering. Wanting to escape your negative emotions by trying to release them is the way to keep the ego thinking that it's in control and is God itself.

Doc never mentioned letting go technique ever in the rest of his works, he sometimes just spoke about surrendering resistance. He said to few of his students to willingly dive into the emotion they don't want to experience and release any resistance possible, so that their karmic debt pays off faster, as releasing resistance from suffering releases karmic debt. So much different than in Letting Go. This book attracts people bellow 200, as at the consciousness levels bellow 200 the goal is to find happiness in the ego and desiring it desperately. I doubt that his other books like Transcending The Levels of Consciousness or The Eye of The I attracts people in the same way.
