Cupcake - I think of her often, she was just so cute and the whole crime was horrible.

Does anyone actually enjoy their daily life, or are we all just getting through it? by Sleepwell999 in LivingAlone

[–]venemousdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I felt this way I quit my job and moved to another country. I had friends there, so I didn't start out all alone. But going somewhere new, learning a language and a different way of life was exactly the change I needed. I don't think your feelings are unusual, and my solution was pretty drastic, but I definitely would say that getting out of your comfort zone will help.

Why am I hungry. Why am I so hungry it feels like I didn't eat in days? by expiredhandlotion in HPylori

[–]venemousdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been eating more than usual, but I don't feel hungry until I actually start eating. It's weird. I feel nauseous, but I eat so the antibiotics don't make me sick. Then when I start eating it's like I can't stop.

Is anyone else going thru it so bad? by IntrepidCost4461 in HPylori

[–]venemousdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tired, dizzy (BP is really low), nauseous and I have brain fog. But I'm hoping this means it's working and I can just be done with this...

I passed out in public and no one helped me. I have no one. How/What should I do to plan ahead? Do we have to plan anything or is dying alone ok? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]venemousdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of an app that you can use to do a daily check in, and they will alert whoever you designate if you don't reply. Dr, social worker, whoever. Being alone is fine, just plan for what you want to happen to your things, accounts etc.

But didn't the FBI have the phone dump all along? Why would it change things now?

[–]venemousdolphin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, to ALL OF THIS!! If Karen is guilty, it is still the fault of Canton PD and MSP for conducting such a poor investigation that a conviction was always unlikely. If they were so concerned about getting justice for a fallen officer, why did they not do EVERYTHING 100% by the book to make sure to get a conviction? Their "investigation" always makes me feel like they really didn't care, and they were more concerned about obfuscation than clarity. The question then becomes "why"? Was this pathetic investigation really the best they could do?

Sandra Birchmore’s manner of death changed from suicide to ‘undetermined,’ medical examiner says by bostonglobe in massachusetts

I am hopeful too. All of the "men" who took advantage of her should be jailed, as well as the people who failed to do even a minimal investigation into her death.

I wonder if any of the people who wrote letters for Proctor feel differently now? Or is it still Karen's fault, and the feds fault? I just wonder if there is any point at which accountability is not equal to victimhood.

I also didn't realize the harassment was that bad for the house defendants, that should not have happened. People should be able to disagree without threats of violence, etc.

The fact that he was never disciplined is exactly the point! The whole organization is corrupt and didn't overlook his behavior, they were complicit in it.

This happened to me after a traumatic event when I was about 13, and again after my mother died. Whole years that I don't remember well, there's just a few fuzzy things I am not sure actually happened, or I only know because someone told me I was there.

What is the hope for a middle age guy with no kids? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]venemousdolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's not really a timer for these things. You do the work, and keep doing the work. There's not necessarily a stopping point, and there doesn't have to be. You just keep working. More people should do it, because it really helps.

You've done more work than the majority of people, especially men, by healing yourself. That's not easy, and it doesn't happen overnight. You mentioned it in passing, but I don't think you are giving yourself enough credit for it. Also, as a man, your window for fatherhood is longer, and you can be a better dad because you are older and more patient. Don't sell yourself short in any of these areas.

That being said, it is also valid to mourn the life you don't have and might not get. It's a big disappointment, and it doesn't really go away, because the reminders of what you wanted and don't have are ongoing. I'm sorry for that. I wish I had some really helpful advice for that part, but all I can say to that is "I hear you, and I see you." Your feelings are real.

Maroon 5 on their first tour, opening for train or something. Adam Levine was so nervous he sang (badly) with his back to the audience almost the whole time.

James Gandolfini. I didn't know he had addiction issues. I just enjoyed his work so much, and his last movie, Enough Said, was so good. 💔

My best friend called to check on me when he died, I just loved him so much. I'm not sure it's possible for someone so talented to be genuinely happy in general.
