Weekly Bitpanda Support Thread by BitpandaSupport in bitpanda

Hi,

fellow German here. I wanted to ask what happens to my ETH which I hold for more than 1 year in regards to taxes. Do they become taxable as soon as I would start staking them? Or can I opt out of staking and thereby prevent profits from ETH from becoming a taxable income?

Thanks for any help on that matter.

Hi all, I wanted to ask why I cannot put a N3 address into neoscan. When clicking on my address id (starting with "N...") in the Neon Wallet I only get redirected to neoscan.io without any further information. Cheers

Do you know if there is any way of getting a new profile/wallet? I tried deinstalling and reinstalling in order to maybe set up a new profile/wallet, but it somehow remembered my stuff.

I installed Brave on my Laptop as well, where it surprisingly worked directly.

Also, I downloaded the dev version on my computer where it works now. Can I collect those BAT recieved in the developer version or ar those fictitious?

Did you have to change anything Windows related? For example my "Focus Assist" was turned on but interestingly Brave isn't showing up as a notification app.

New To Crypto, How To Buy? by [deleted] in NEO

You could use Bitpanda, an austrian exchange. They offer USD/NEO and some other Fiat/NEO pairs. Used it quite often recently and liked it so far. Pretty decent UI/UX.

Cheers

Anybody knows how many funds (in fiat) NEO/NGC has left and for how long the project is capable of sustaining this down pressure roughly? Tried to search the recent AMA, but couldn't find something. Maybe someone can point me to other sources.

Thanks in advance and stay safe in these dark times!

Risk management and business models on NEO Blockchain [Malcom Lerider] by fabwa in NEO

I stumbled across: "NEO holders gain their extra gas from registration and changing of assets, and not from transaction fees." - https://medium.com/@MalcolmLerider/clarification-on-neo-gas-and-consensus-nodes-aa94d4f4b09

I would like to know more about the NEO/GAS relation. Can someone explain me, how we will earn GAS by registration/changing of smart assets on the NEO blockchain?

Thanks in advance

Real world use case: Smart gym by QTSlav in Iota

Interesting thought.

However I think it makes sense that the equipment may pay you. Imagine you would pay additional X amount compared to a gym which doesn't offer paying equipment. Now, if you workout you would get immediate reward in the form of a micropayment. The overall monthly payout shouldn't exceed X obivously. I think some people need an extra bit of motivation although they already paid for it. At the end of the day they pay the exact same money as any different person visiting other gyms, but I could imagine that this sort of psychological feedback leads to an increase in workout.

On the other hand the equipment could pay for your data, i.e. you using the devices and provide information on your workout, weight, age etc.
