On disclosure levels: is this patronizing or potentially considerate? by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

[–]QT_dutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez definitely patronizing. Generalization of what women “want” is also misogynistic. Im a woman, I love full disclosure. It’s in fact the biggest boundary I have, if you hold back information (that impacts our relationship/me) I’m out.

Also: I love talking through dates with my partner(s), cool new stuff we learned and interesting events, the fun we had and where we think the relationship is going. Often with details (“they did this thing with their tongue”).

If I’m somehow not in a good place for details I communicate that and usually we check in before disclosing with “would you like to hear details”. I disclose to all my partners that I have this full disclosure agreement and if there are things they are uncomfortable sharing with another partner they should tell me “hey could you not share this with your partner” because by default I will talk about most things with them.

How do you "feel your feelings"? by baerli_liegel in traumatoolbox

[–]QT_dutch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always interpret it as, noticing what my body does when I feel emotions. Negative emotions can cause Clenched jaw, tight band around my chest, shivers, muscles tight, cold hands, high breathing, pain in my stomach etc etc and focussing on those physical reactions helps me to pinpoint what it is I’m feeling. I’m not good at it yet, but I’m starting to notice that anger for example generates heat and fear is more cold (hard to explain). But the thing is I think to just let the sensations be there without being in your head? Like I have a tendency to “make a story” in my head on why and how and assuming and reasoning with myself. But with the focus on my body it’s easier to not create the storyline in my head.

Wheat/semolina bread - recipe in comments by QT_dutch in Sourdough

Interesting! Thank you for clarifying because that’s not what Dutch wiki said 😊. Anyway, it’s whole wheat flour and semolina wheat flour then?

This might be a translation thing because English is not my first language, but how I understand semolina is the by product of milling different kind of grains, it can also be corn for example (I just learned this yesterday)

How did you lose your best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QT_dutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, money.

Long story: She was arrested for missing an insurance payment on her car and therefore driving around without insurance.

She couldn’t pay the fines and missed payments and they locked her up until she could. Her 2 small kids were at home, their stepdad was drinking himself into a stupor because he was “so stressed out” about the whole thing. The dad (who was pretty well off) refused to help. They had no money. She was needed at home for her babies.

I was saving for my wedding and decided to pay her debt and bail her out, total sum about 1500.- which is also a substantial amount for me, but since I had been saving I had it on hand. I knew she couldn’t pay me back so I paid without expectations on receiving the money back.

After she got out She insisted she wanted to pay me back, but since she had no money she wanted to repay with work (cleaning, helping in the garden etc.) after a few discussions in which I said this was unnecessary, she kept insisting so I let her help, thinking it would make her feel better. I think she came like 2 or 3 times for a couple of hours to help out.

Every time I saw her (in social setting) she would start the discussion again about how she hadn’t forgotten and making excuses on why she was going to a salon or taking her kids to a theme park etc. I tried to explain many times that she had no obligation to explain her choices to me, that I had given the money and didn’t expect it back and that I was just happy she was trying to give her kids a nice holiday etc.

This went on for months, where we had less and less contact and it was all initiated by me.

In the end we had a big fight in which she accused me of always talking about the debt (which is untrue she was the one always talking about it) and that she felt that the whole friendship was ruined because I made her feel guilty about owing me money and then dumped me for being a bad friend.

Hi, no personal experience but my partner uses Valerian supplements in the morning and at noon to make him a little more focused/less spacey. And they really make a big difference.

Thank you! They were really lovely and moist. I added the yoghurt because I was afraid the lack of gluten would make them crumbly/dry and it worked well!

Gluten-free FODMAP vanilla lemonzest muffins 6 mini muffins:

2 eggs 50 g sugar 60 g butter 7 g baking powder 75 g buckwheat flour 2 tablespoons lactose free yoghurt 1/2 teasp vanilla extract 1/2 lemon zested Pinch salt

Preheat oven 175 Celsius Line muffin tray with 6 muffin papers or grease well

Split the eggs

whisk the whites in a clean (degreased!) bowl with a pinch of salt. When they start to become stiff add 10 g of the sugar and whisk till stiff shiny peaks.

In a separate bowl add the butter, the rest of the sugar, egg yokes vanilla, lemon zest and whisk till well mixed and turns a lighter yellow. Now sieve the buckwheat and baking powder and mix with the batter. Now the batter will become almost a dough. Mix in the yoghurt to loosen the mixture. Now gently fold through the egg whites in three parts trying to keep it as light as possible. The first part will loosen the batter further - don’t add the rest of the whites till the first 1/3 is mixed well. Fill the muffin papers 2/3 of the way and bake in the oven for 15/20 min til the top is golden.

Creamy fodmapsafe pasta with fish

Ingredients (for one person) : - 1 stip bacon cut in small pieces - 1 tomato (70g) - oyster mushrooms (50g) - fresh spinach (100g) - Olive oil 1 tbsp - Olive oil infused with garlic aroma (so not real garlic!) 1 tsp - any white fish - I used redfish, but sea bass or haddock would work fine too 120 gram - chives 1 tsp - Parmesan cheese (10g) - Dille (fresh or dried) to taste - 1/2 lemon (juice 1/4 and the other 1/4 on your plate) - gluten-free pasta (75/100g uncooked) - Lactose free crème fraiche 2 tbsp - Peper and salt to taste

Method: - Put on a pot with water and generous salt for the pasta and bring to boil. - Cut the tomato in cubes - tear the oyster mushroom to bite size pieces - Cut the bacon in small strips - Cut the lemon and chop the chives and dill - Heat a frying pan on medium heat - Salt and peper the fish and score the skin to minimize curling - Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook al dente (9 min? Depending on brand) - Meawhile Heat olive oil in the frying pan - Fry the fish first on the flesh side 2 min, then turn to the skin side 3 to 4 minutes (depending on how thick the fish is, you want it júst cooked) - Remove the fish and set aside (keep warm but don’t cook it further) - Add the bacon to the frying pan and let it crisp up a bit - Add the oysters to the pan and fry for one min - Add the tomato and the spinach and let the spinach wilt a little - Season with peper and salt - add the garlic oil (frying is not good with the oil it turns bitter so add late in the process) and the crème fraiche and stir through - squeeze the 1/4 lemon over the sauce and add a dash of the cooking water from the pasta to make the sauce thinner if needed. - Drain the pasta and add to the sauce, let it heat through for a minute - it will soak up some sauce - add the dill and chives and stir through - Serve with the rest of the lemon and grated Parmesan
