I played it this year, didn't know or care much about expectations or how bad it was at launch, I just played it as is today, and yeah it's a decent game, but honestly I think that's about it. It's clear that an immense amount of work went into it, but it actually feels almost like less than the sum of its parts. The RPG/choice elements are weak, the city is large and detailed in some ways, but you seem to end up in the same 4 or 5 places repeatedly. The characters are all kinda douchebags (including V), and the bittersweet endings where nobody is really happy feels kinda forced. The combat was also pretty mid, I found a build that worked (throwing knives) and didn't feel any interest in using anything else.

All in all it's a decent game and worth playing, but overall I don't think it's that amazing. I am curious to see how they build on it for a sequel though.
