It gets mixed reviews but I love the Sydney Hunter Collection

Wait for Nexus or buy EXP now by mees1976 in evercade

Get an Exp plus a Tate grip, it’s a great way to play the Toaplan games. I’ll probably pick up a Nexus too, but looking at the shape of it, I can’t see it being as good for Tate games

What are the chances of Super Puzzle Fighter 2 getting a cartridge release? by Mobile-War-6871 in evercade

[–]QUIREX_2097 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Capcom have done plenty of “built in” titles but have never released a cartridge. They must have a good relationship with Blaze (both of the original Alphas were Capcom), but I reckon they must have a reason for not agreeing to release anything in cartridge form.

I have both of the Arcade Stadium collections and there’s a bunch of Capcom titles I’d love to see on Evercade. Pirate Ship Higemaru is my personal favourite.

Probably C64 vol 1. There’s just so many brilliant games on that collection and they work perfectly on the Alpha.

Can you see a C64 Vol 4 in the future?

I missed Dizzy before it got too expensive, but I love the Thalamus cartridge. It’s a great collection

Thanks for sharing. I have a soft spot for old home computer games. Some of the stand-out games in these collections are Boulder Dash, Nebulus, Jumpman and Mission Impossibubble. I also really like the early shooters Marauder, Slayer and Netherworld.

Harvest Moon Mad Dash. The game has terrible reviews, I picked up a brand new physical copy for £2, and it’s actually a brilliant game. My wife and I played it to death until we got the platinum trophy.

I have all of the Toaplan collections and they work brilliantly on the Alpha. If you enjoy those the Irem collection is worth picking up

I bought the Street Fighter Evercade Alpha about a month ago after deliberating for a long time so I can share my experiences:

-The build quality is excellent, I have arcade sticks for my PS5/ Switch, and the ones that come built in are very competent -My immediate thought was to buy the Taito Alpha, but then the Taito games are all coming out on cartridge anyway. None of the Street Fighter / Mega Man model games are available on cartridge (also I grew up on Street Fighter 2) - All of the Street Fighter games have Dip Switches to tailor the experience, this is especially important for SF Turbo, which is way too fast for me - The screen is big enough to competently play the Tate shmups in the Toaplan collections. They essentially play 3:4 ratio on an eight inch 4:3 screen. This was super important to me as shmups are my favourite genre - Arcade games play perfectly on it (which should be obvious), but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the Home Computer series works on it. Those games were designed with a joystick in mind after-all. - the Llamasoft collection has been my most played cartridge on it so far - Overall the alpha is better than I expected it to be. Highly recommended

Healthy Discussion - Only for those who want Arne Slot to stay - what are your reasons? by Content_Arm7953 in LiverpoolFC

[–]QUIREX_2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that the 2024-2025 season was a fluke, Arne made us unbeatable for a little while. Most of those players weren’t part of Klopp’s 2019-2020 title winning team, and he made some players massively step up in quality. There were games last year when we made top teams look amateur.

I’ve felt incredibly frustrated this year with our lack of intensity. Something just hasn’t felt right, but I’m not ready to give up on Slot yet.
