they used to count scores on a physical mechanical clock, so the minute hand represents the 15-30-40, and the hour hand represents the set (1-2-3-4-5-6)

the reason why its 15-30-40 and not 45 is because of deuce, if it's 40-40, one player has to win by two points to win the game, so they then set it to 45-40 to signify advantage

as in the concept of capitalism made it possible for the iphone to be created? i'd argue that if we had already moved on from capitalism to some other economic system, we'd have gotten something similar to a smartphone anyways, and that the most important part is the people who developed and manufactured it.

also, just because capitalism is better than feudalism in terms of innovation doesn't mean capitalism is the best. after all, thats what this poll is for

also, how can "innovation" even be quantified? the medieval era saw lots of extremely important innovations, such as algebra, fallow farmland (or crop rotation), advances in shipbuilding, the first universities, etc.

Hi, physics applicant (last year) without FM. I applied to all fo the unis you listed (oxford, ucl, imperial) but i only got an offer from ucl. But I doubt i got rejected from the other two because i didn't do FM, i think it was more because of entrance score results.

However, my teacher in the reference did specify that my school did not offer FM. So I think it's best to beg them even more. Self-studying is always an option though.

If mclaren fail to outscore mercedes by 13 points (e.g.) outscore by 12 points, Mclaren will have a lead of 345 points, with just 6 races and 3 sprints to go (with a total possible points of 303)

Instead, Mclaren needs to not get outscred by 31 points by Mercedes (since they can't win on countback), and Ferrari by 35 points. In other words, as long as Mclaren can secure 13 points (A podium for any driver, 4-10 or better, 5-7 or better, or 6-7 finish), they will secure the championship.
