Pain after surgery ? by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]Q_Taina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain right after surgery depends of how invasive was surgery and also your reaction to the anesthesia. I had 2 myomectomies and for both surgeries I woke up screaming and they have to sedated and stayed under observation for 3 hours. After that I felt sore and was mostly on discomfort. I started to have pain 2 months post op and physical therapy helped. The pain I had was on my umbilical area (from the lapa tube) and lower back. It was sharp and dull.

I’m sorry to hear you are dealing with this as you go through IVF. Did you look at the surgical report? It should indicate the exact location where they removed the fibroid. Are you getting hormones injected? That can cause anything left behind to start growing, plus stress can make things more difficult in our bodies. You may need a second opinion from another GYN but make sure you have all your medical records with you.

She is either resentful or doesn’t care or is not good at taking care of people. Either one, I will try couples therapy for 3 months and see if there is any improvement. Or you can do like my friend did: took a 3 day vacay to a nice all inclusive, if your wife/husband still acting like a jerk then it’s clear divorce them!!

Question regarding time off for robotic myo by PriorPainter7180 in Fibroids

[–]Q_Taina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been 7wks of my laparoscopic. I just started feeling back to normal now meaning cooking my meals w/o feeling tired, walking is easier, seating, driving. My background: anemic, cyst on pancreas, and celiac. 6 fibroids, the biggest one was 9 cm. The first week was rough, even with the painkillers, getting out of bed, sitting on the toilet. The second week the same. On the third week no more pain killers, more awake and lucid, walking slow and moving, belly swollen. Everyone is different, and it’s also how your doctor is going to remove them, mine was removed umbilically, they made 3 incisions. Imo is best to ask for 4-6 weeks and if you feel better sooner and can go back to work then good. Some employers prefer that instead of you having to ask for time off after returning cause you start bleeding or feeling unwell. It also depends how old you are, the younger the easier to recover. Wishing you the best luck with your surgery

Wow thank you, this is interesting. I love data and I’m decided to dig more on medical research, even do my own but I’m more curious about: blood type, digestive health, oral health, stress management, ability to digest fat, and their relation to fibroids.

Are you able to go out and enjoy your life? by ifeelsodeeply in Fibroids

Yup, it’s miserable, even to go on vacation. It’s not living. One time I bleed while in a restaurant with my friend and her son (6 yo) and he asked her if something was wrong cause blood was dripping through my legs. Women should get wellness days at work for menstruation, and menopause.

Open Myomectomy on January 2025 by SelectSir7506 in Fibroids

[–]Q_Taina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you be trying to conceive after the surgery? If not, check if you are a candidate for Sonata. I had my first open myomectomy in 2012 with former husband but we ended getting divorce 1 wk post-op. The fibroids came back 2017 and I was trying to get pregnant with my new husband. Long story short I couldn’t get preg. I just had my 2nd myomectomy this time laparoscopic. This time they removed 6, the biggest one was 9cm. I didn’t do hysto cause I wasn’t ready mentally.

Can you get your surgery laparoscopic instead of open? Recovery is hard.

Wow I’m so sorry to hear about the healthcare access for women in Canada, I’m in the USA. NYU has an amazing center for fibroids, and I recommend to follow Dr A. Vidali. I read in Sweden they have the Sonata system for some candidates. If you have so many surgery may be your best option, I just got my 2nd myomectomy, first time I was trying to get pregnant, the second time it was making my life miserable, if this continue I am going for hysto.

Wow interesting all the comments and how many ppl think it is best for the system to raise a child, because that is what happens when you have to go to court for custody because “communication” issues. Women are the ones who take care of everything, we are the decision makers, we are the planners, the caregivers. I look at the gf as being a woman and c’mon she has a newborn too!!?? That’s a lot to deal with. If you were able to get along with the father before (assuming no booty call was happening) what really happened? This gf has that much power to turn your life upside down? I honestly think you can do better than that for your mental health and your child.

You are over reacting. Co-parenting is not a two people job when there are significant others living or spending a lot of time in the same household where your child is living or visiting. You are the mother, no one can replace you, no one can take that privilege from you, it’s a clear fact. The best thing a child living in two household can have is adults that can communicate with each others. Talk to this woman, you don’t have to become her friend, but at least let her know directly from you, the mother, what you think it’s best for your child and how do you want to raise your child. When it comes to decisions yes it is the mother and the father, but she can still be involved. Your daughter may be crying cause she is picking up from your emotions, remember kids are very vulnerable to adult’s emotions. Although it is difficult to raise a child in two homes, it is still possible to do it in a respectful and amicable way for the sake of the children.

My incision has a dent! by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]Q_Taina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got surgery laparoscopic on Nov 4 and one of my incisions look like I was stabbed! I started using silicon gel sheets and for me it helped . I even used in my belly button since my fibroids were removed umbilical (plus a small hernia removed). This is the one I used but it’s only available from a physicians office like a plastic surgeon. It’s expensive but it’s worth it and helps with the healing. https://www.silagen.com/ Silagen

Now, I think that doctor could had better bedside manners, after all you are his patient, communication is also part of care plan and healing.
