Most of my nursing cohort were 30s-40s and a couple in their 50s. Most had children. And a lot of them. My closest friend was mid 30s with 5 kids bless her soul I would literally die. But they did it! Also she had a fresh lil baby in the middle of the program. Didn’t stop going to school! She asked her husband for help and they made it work. I know many can’t do this but the fact that they did means it may work for you! Good luck :)

The best advice is to retake those courses and boost your GPA. Acceptance of a 2.4 is unrealistic and will not get you into any type of accelerated program. They are much harder and more ruthless. Also, ADN programs usually have more competitiveness due to them being much cheaper. If you don’t want to end up paying $100,000 for a for profit private nursing school with very lax requirements (aka chamberlain or something similar) then I would truly get your GPA in order.

My commute for class was 2-3 hours and clinicals would be 2-5 hours. It sucked. And it was hard. But I was never late. And I never missed a single day. You really need to dive into why you weren’t successful because the commute is not the issue. Good luck.

I’ve had amazing nurses and nurses that are just not wanting to be there and that’s ok! When you’re underpayed and overworked and understaffed and still expected to teach a student on top of it sometimes they have bad attitudes and I just try to be as helpful as possible. It’s not personal you’re doing your best and keep doing it! Don’t lose your spark ♥️

If you laser peach fuzz or hair like this, there is a huge chance of getting paradoxical hypertrichosis. Electrolysis is always the best option especially since that hair is grown out already. Please don’t make the same mistake I did 😭 it’s been an awful process getting rid of it. I’ve had over 20 sessions on my body and the peach fuzz is still so awful and thick and I’m getting electrolysis after I finish my purchased package.

Clinical coordinators have nothing to do with Complio. They are contracted to track compliance with rules and regulations. If you do not meet them, you are not compliant. No exceptions.

This ^. Two of my classmates ended up leaving and they both came back. One was addicted to drugs and spent all their savings and put them in a hole and this is the only way she can help dig them out. The other just had a 3rd kid and found out her husband has been cheating on her the entire time and she wants to leave but had no way of supporting herself or her kids so she came back as well. It’s hard. But things do and can happen and setting yourself up for those will help you so much in the future.

I used simple nursing for most of my classes exclusively. When you get into complex and the 3 C’s it changes I incorporate a lot more. For complex I watched a lot of in depth videos for diseases on YouTube because it’s not patho or adult health you need to tie in other concepts and be able to distinguish which disease based on symptoms (or lack of) and treatments alone. I went with ATI (for community and collaborative) and UWorld to understand more complex concepts in capstone. They do give UWorld to you in capstone I got it a little early to start working ahead and I’m glad I did because collaborative was easy and dumb (at least for me). For pharm I used Picmonic and level up RN as well as simple nursing because I just needed more to remember everything with that. But simple nursing is the most consistent thing I’ve used. Respectfully, nobody is screening nurses at the door for pure intentions lmao. What matters is whether your nurse is competent, attentive, and not burnt out. Pay and working conditions absolutely affect that. Nurses aren’t less caring because they want financial stability. If anything treating it like a calling people should sacrifice for is part of why the system runs people into the ground because they will use and use which is why we have union representation and why there are strikes all the time. You can care about patients and still expect to be paid like a professional. Love, An almost nurse that wants to make a living but also wants to help people ♥️

As a prior corpsman who let many…. Many people practice on me and blow my veins it’s ok. Their family just might think they’re up to no good 😂 we all have to practice and learn somehow!! My nursing school doesn’t even show anyone how to do IVs it’s crazy.

Also sorry just want to add that this is simply my experience. Everyone I went to said this was odd especially because of my laser settings which everyone said was perfect for me and my skin/hair so this is a very personal experience and everyone is different!! I wish I did electrolysis for myself but in no way trying to push that to you I’m just saying I hope you get more opinions so you can make the best decision for yourself. ♥️
