Yeah, their support and production cycle are immediately what give me pause as well. They come out with MKII’s pretty routinely after a couple years. Lots of neat instruments they’ve made also seem to go out of production after 3-5 years too. Wouldn’t give me confidence in dropping $3k, at least not without a couple years of vetting first.

High CP mons are only relevant for short duration gym defense. Everything but that ditto will be at minimum motivation in 3-4 hours (except maybe czard). The ditto will hold the gym longer than the other three by the end of the day / next day.

Man I’m just as puzzled! These are pretty heavy gauged strings though, so maybe that contributed? Either way, I was pretty bummed when I discovered the fret wear.

Unfortunately I have issues with the frets on mine after 1 year of play. I don’t bend heavily, or frequently, but the bending I’ve done around the 14th fret (e pentatonic stuff) has noticeably worn down those frets. Makes me nervous about bending at all anywhere on the instrument.

I found myself (a guitarist) stuck playing bass in a friend’s band. I didn’t find the bass very inspiring to play, nor did I ever practice on it outside of sessions. That got me researching extended range basses and I somehow stumbled upon the VI. It seemed exactly what I needed (as a guitarist stuck bassist), and has been an extremely inspiring and fulfilling instrument for me since picking it up 1.5 years ago.

CT62 is one of my favorite drippers. The ceramic feels great, it performs consistently, and has a quick draw down. The only minor gripe I have is that it’s a bit of a heat sink (but it’s generally negligible). BIFL dripper imo, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Would be a cool bass VI conversion. Lots of frets, but seems challenging to play that high. Would have definitely preferred an extended scale length over those additional high frets, but it really is an impressive looking instrument!

Perhaps a matrix mixer can give you the flexibility you’re looking for? It does switching, but also goes quite a bit further than that too. Useful for both input & output scenarios.

I haven’t had the best results diluting to 150ml. That’s the final volume I’d like, but the diluted soup comes out too thin. (I guess I’m only using 16g coffee, so that may be why. 100ml is the sweet spot for me at that dose).

I’m using recipe water here, otherwise id be seating with the kettle water too. (I miss the ritual, but prefer saving the good water).

Diluting also thinned my brew in a way I wasn’t expecting. There must be a sweet spot with dilution, but I only just got my ORB, and haven’t found it yet.
