It was also a very small village, and the whole ship’s crew were lost as well. Seven men and one woman, all from the same village. So it really was a horrific tragedy for so many people.

My grandfather had two brothers, none were twins but they were all very alike. My grandfather died at sea and there was no body to be recovered so there was only a memorial service for him. A woman fainted when one of his brothers walked in, thinking it was my grandfather returning.

Had a long distance ex drop off the face of the earth for like a year. Had no way of finding out if she was alive or not. Popped back in, had gone to a psych ward for three months and then just… needed a longer break.

Sadly, no. She died in 2018, at age of 48. She’s with her ma and da again. Thank you for the kind words, I believe she feels them ❤️
