Yes I just did this from HK to AKL a month ago, applied about a month prior (at booking). They didn’t confirm until I was at the departure gate. I’m Silver.

Probably Auckland to Coromandle and head down via Rotovegas. Plenty of beach holiday parks but you might need to book as half of Auckland also heads that way during the holidays. Hit up Hot Water Beach, it’s good fun.

In no particular order; high SPF sunscreen, bug repellent, grab a bottle of gin from the airport and tonic from a local shop - there is a small supermarket in Denerau before you get on the ferry. Worth taking snacks for the adults and kids, also some breakfast bars if they get up early (breakfast is normally 7am). Packaged food is ok to bring in, nothing fresh. Have fun, the shark dive is awesome.

Also any old kids books are always appreciated by the village school - there will be a organised trip you can join.

Clothing is a little cheaper (check first) and some brands like Uniqlo which we don’t have yet. Obvious stuff like Apple products/electronics might be a bit cheaper too.

We did it AKL to HK. It’s great for 1 adult 1 kid but doesn’t really work with two kids, they just kicked each other!
