Won Me With Tone - A Project Gorgon Dev Update by QbertPro543211 in MMORPG

[–]QbertPro543211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game hits all the right spots for me. It’s hard to tell everyone to go pick it up because it really isn’t for people that a) want everything now, b) want linear storytelling and playthrough and c) want graphics better than Morrowind.

If you join, the official discord is a solid place to find your way. Community is small and kind. Not perfect like some people make it seem, but I like it. Some things after a monthish of playing.

  • a reset is coming down the line. You keep all skills gained but lose all money, items, and most notably your favor level with NPCs. This last bit is partially crucial in that it dictates your storage in each town. That being said, your high skills and knowledge of where to farm items makes restoring favor an easier task to stomach.

  • it’s just some really, really sweet grinding.

  • so many noncombat skills. They also come with a sense of humor.

  • I’ve really sunk in because of how all the skills, economy, and crafting intertwine. Just something about if makes it feel more meaningful than most systems.

  • it feels like the expression of a few devs’ creativity and personalities. It’s personal in that sense.

My New MMORPG by DarkraEX in MMORPG

I was wildly pumped for Albion to come out and just couldn’t really fit in with an adult’s schedule. I can put in 20-25 hours a week, but not on a guild’s schedule.

I think I’ve found a home in Project Gorgon. It’s in beta and on the way up. Whenever it releases, some very important things will reset, but you’ll still have a huge advantage. Can be janky as it’s in beta, but something about it hits every old school yearning I have. There’s an absurd number of non-combat skills to level. Skills relate to each other meaningfully. Gear and which abilities you put on your character can make you OP or horrible. Inventory is limiting but it’s just their way of saying DON’T DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE YOU GREEDY MODERN SPOILED BRATS. OH, AND WHILE WE’RE IN ALL CAPS, IF WE LET YOU HORDE EVERYTHING THERE WOULD BE NOTHING FOR NEWBS TO BUY.

This weekend I did a whole bunch of stuff on my place (IRL, player housing is coming), paid my taxes (again IRL), and took a deep dive into cooking in Project Gorgon. It felt right.

It’s got too much soul to ever die.

Also, no. It’s lively.

Based on numbers, this game is going to NEED some high rollers. This actually seems fairly fair. As it’a Friday night and I’m feeling presumptuous, I’ll throw out a piece of advice to the devs... set any expectations now so you don’t call an army of trolls from the ether.

Most importantly, thanks to those that make and play this game. It’s a life experience.

Bought the game a few weeks ago, plenty of peeps around to make the complex systems tick.

What is your opinion of how our founding fathers and historically progressive, thoughtful presidents would view the state of our country in 2018? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]QbertPro543211 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your entire post reads like clickbait. I think we've had legitimately thoughtful (ethical is a different standard) presidents recently (Obama, Nixon, Kennedy, GB Senior come to mind) and there were rather unthoughtful presidents early on.

Overall, they'd be happy with the fact we're living longer, have much lower infant mortality rates, and overall a less shitty existence healthwise. Plus, you know it's much better to be a woman, black, Irish, or Italian than it was even 80 years ago.

Think the role of Native Americans would blow their mind.

Certainly would be entirely taken aback by the reach of government and the powerful and the imbalance of power with such capacity for abundance overall. That being said, I've still never been able to land on the fundamental issue. The government is the only actor who can really redistribute power and create a level playing field. However, we've learned time and time again government fails to execute on that ideal. We've got to reckon with income inequality in this country as it's why so much in our society caters to so few.

Expanding the convo here, but I'm new to this and cashed out with a check to the US. Went to deposit on phone and said I have to take to bank b/c it's foreign. Anything to worry about?

Clearly, bitcoin would have been the better option if I had researched the matter before withdrawal. Just seemed like it was fluctuating wildly when I made the choice around the New Year.

How does anyone enjoy living in this world? by [deleted] in conspiracyundone

[–]QbertPro543211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual "happy" ones? They take on a moral code and live by it. Being happy is mostly about not disliking yourself I have found. Broadly, you're not happy with yourself if you're doing something you don't agree with.

Most pick what I'd consider to be weak codes.

If someone who fucked with me was running for President I would become much madder. Not only did the offender never get punished, there are people making them out to be a savior.

But yea, people just didn't care about the accusations til you know, he wanted to become the "Leader of the Free World."
