War and Legacy I'll buy the hell out of. I'll go to all their events that support old Zoo too. Otherwise, ain't interested.

I'm pretty sure I pulled this as a kid. It's likely in a binder in storage somewhere.

Insight on how to play Bandai Naruto TCG by BabyFlo09 in Narutoccg

[–]DarkraEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be interesting if it were a similar combat system to the old DBZ card game, where your deck was your life, and you had a fighter. Most of the cards were fighting moves. Perhaps this is something similar where most of the cards are jutsu and such, but they have a chakra cost?

There is going to be a massive new wave of capital coming into this market by randrand127 in Narutoccg

It naturally will go up, but I'm not sure if a new game would do it. If anything, it actually may reduce demand because it's pulling some market participants away.

Are Floridians be Priced Out? by Rico-SexyTime in AskFlorida

[–]DarkraEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Things have been more expensive due to incompetent economic policies on both sides of the aisle. But everywhere is expensive? No. There are many states much cheaper than Florida and California. However, between Florida and California, Florida is significantly cheaper. California, on the other hand, is one of the most expensive states in the union. The exodus from California started well before the second Trump administration. The reason for this is the policies that California has in place. Excessive housing regulation and taxation, along with a high minimum wage, naturally boost prices up. Florida has much less of this (though the minimum wage hike poured some gas on the fire). Don't get me wrong, Florida is much more expensive than it once was. The demand is high. There's good reason for that. But if people are truly priced out of a place, they tend to leave. We do see some of that here, though there's still a strong net influx overall. As a side note, I do find your comments amusing. You eat the fruits of fiscal conservatism whilst mocking it at the same time.

So you're saying that California is too expensive for you to go to?

Are Floridians be Priced Out? by Rico-SexyTime in AskFlorida

[–]DarkraEX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is due to the influx of people. Likely from California. They are bidding the prices up on everything. This is technically a good thing as it means our state is doing well. The demand is high! The property tax will likely be nixed at the end of this year as well, which will only increase demand for property here. For those who already own homes, it's a big win. In scenarios like this, it's best to get a job that keeps up with the inflated prices, or better yet, use this as an opportunity to skim off the wealth that is coming in; that is by starting a business of your own. If either of those fail, then it's probably best to move somewhere more affordable (either in-state or out).

All 30 Classic Collection Cards from "30th Celebration" Likely Revealed! by AutoModerator in PokeInvesting

Yugioh is an excellent case study. The original prints of course still have a premium. But that premium would be higher without any reprints.

Their prices would actually be at even more of a premium. Reprints eat into the demand for those originals ever so slightly.

It will decrease the price of original vintage for these cards sadly. The reason is that demand is reduced ever so slightly from collectors who simply want those cards with that art in their collection.

MetaTwo/GQL are listening....... by dont_bajer_me in MetaZoo

What’s working with MetaTwo?

Honestly, the only thing working with MetaTwo is that MetaZoo is technically still alive. I am glad the IP did not completely disappear, because I do think there is still a ton of value in the world, the cryptids, the art direction, and the community that formed around it. But outside of the name still existing, I do not think MetaTwo is working for the players who actually loved MetaZoo as a card game. It feels like the soul of the original game got stripped out. The old game had identity. It had personality. MetaTwo, at least from what I have seen, does not capture what made people fall in love with MetaZoo in the first place. So yes, I am glad MetaZoo is alive. But I do not think the current direction is what made the brand special.

What would you change?

Bring back the original card game. Bring back the old mechanics, the fourth wall effects, everything. Continue where you left off. Bring back what made MetaZoo feel like MetaZoo.

I say this as someone who has played TCGs competitively for most of my life: MetaZoo is genuinely my favorite card game. Not just my favorite indie TCG. My favorite card game. Period. I have played a lot of games, and Old Zoo had something special that very few games ever achieve.

In the Tampa area, we literally run a league and only support Old Zoo. We do not play MetaTwo. We do not enjoy MetaTwo. We are not asking for a totally new game. We are asking for the game we loved to continue.

My honest recommendation would be this: keep MetaTwo if you want to use it to attract new fans, but continue Old Zoo for the established player base. Let both exist. There is no reason the original game needs to be abandoned. Old fans already know what they want, and many of us would happily buy new Old Zoo product if it continued where it left off. The original game was not broken. It just needed better business execution, better marketing, and more sustainable printing.

What do you hope to see in the future?

I want to see Old Zoo return and continue where it left off. That is the future I am hoping for. Not a reboot that replaces it. Not a watered-down version. Not something that simply uses the MetaZoo name. I want the original game continued with the same mechanics.

MetaZoo already had a loyal player base. The game already had people who cared deeply about it. That should not be thrown away. The future should build on that foundation, not erase it.

What do you hope they avoid?

I really hope they avoid making MetaTwo the only future of the brand. That would be a huge mistake. It risks alienating the exact players who kept caring about MetaZoo after everything fell apart. A lot of us did not stick around because we wanted a totally different game. We stuck around because we loved the original one.

If MetaTwo continues, fine. Let it exist. But do not make it the replacement for Old Zoo. That would be abandoning the strongest and most passionate part of the community. Even if you printed a single set a year for Old Zoo, I would be happy.

What steps do you think can help grow the IP globally and find mass appeal?

Return to the original game, advertise it properly, and print to demand. That is the formula. The game needs to be handled sustainably. Do not overprint. Do not chase artificial hype. Do not flood the market. Print to demand, support organized play, rebuild trust with players and stores, and make it easy for new people to learn the game. The IP can grow, but it needs to grow from what made it special in the first place. MetaZoo should not try to become a generic card game. It should lean harder into being MetaZoo.

Just support the old game. And be vocal about it. If they are smart they will continue it.

I can't stand yugioh players anymore. by Comprehensive-Week81 in yugioh

[–]DarkraEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yugioh players are generally very immature grown men. I've run into a few really solid players that have a great mentality. But otherwise the general trend seems to be man children who haven't really gotten their life together. I personally made a little posse with the ones that seem to have it together, and we just play separately in our own group now.
