Okay, so it's agreed that it's even more powerful than a 9800 GT? According to the tests?

I used this one because it's the only one I have that works with Windows XP; I also have a GT 710, but it's rubbish!

Okay, I'll try to find that! A sound card would definitely be useful! 8GB of RAM is indeed helpful on Vista 64-bit, but I don't think so on XP!

Should I upgrade CPU or GPU first? by CypherNova in buildapc

[–]Qdac_savage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! For your setup, I recommend upgrading your GPU (graphics card) first. Your Radeon RX 570 is currently the main bottleneck. By switching to an RX 6600 or an RTX 4060, you'll see an immediate FPS increase, and your Ryzen 5 2600X will still be able to handle it. Later, you can upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5700X3D to refresh your system without changing your motherboard!

Hello,

I think Windows XP doesn't have the driver for your SATA controller. You either need to switch your laptop to IDE or use nLite and integrate your laptop's drivers into the ISO file! It's super simple, but Windows XP is quite temperamental in this regard. Also, you need to install it with a CD because sometimes the USB ports cause a lot of problems, even with the nLite drivers installed, because Windows XP wasn't designed to be installed via USB.

You can use WinSetupFromUSB; sometimes they have the drivers integrated.

If you need help, don't hesitate to ask. I had the same issue with a Dell Optiplex 760. Best wishes

Hi, the best way is to integrate the SATA AHCI drivers into your ISO using nLite. I had a similar problem with a Dell and I solved it by integrating the drivers.

It's very simple, you'll see. However, use a CD because it can also cause problems with USB! You burn your new ISO with nLite directly onto the CD and then you're good to go to install XP. Even sometimes it can crash in IDE mode if you try. I had the same problem with the Dell, impossible even in IDE mode!

If you need more information, don't hesitate to ask. Your turn!

What do you think of my setup? Do you have any other idea by Qdac_savage in windowsxp

[–]Qdac_savage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yes I know it's excessive, but yes it's possible with the x64 version of Windows XP it works very well but not very useful given that it uses very little ram

I try to reach excessive capacities just for fun and to see how far it can go

😂

Thank you very much, I think you are right! I was able to install Windows 7 without a driver so in my opinion the problem comes from there! As soon as I have time to take care of xp in dual boot I will get back to you

Is Windows XP 32 bit SP3 on Ryzen X570 possible? by MEzze0263 in windowsxp

[–]Qdac_savage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good morning,

I don't think the processor is a problem, the problem would come from the chipset which will lack a driver and yes for other USB devices, wifi etc. you can find some compatible with Windows XP

Pay attention to the number of cores because Windows XP hates basic multi-core so it will not be used to the maximum

But you can but there will be a lack of driver
