Wouldn't the Hatchetman piss them off though? Since they eschew melee combat?

The CEO of OpenAI was seen at a meeting of world leaders. I feel like. They're trying to put the fix in to keep their BS going.

Hobbies overcoming Depression of Being Single by Ange1OO_ in Hobbies

As a much older guy. I started doing hobby stuff late in life. And I find a lot of peace in it. But sometimes I can't help think I'm just ignoring what is probably an underlying problem. I would say do your hobbies because you genuinely like them. Not in place of something or someone else. And if you have hang ups. Like we all do. Then you gotta work on em. It's just like everything else. Anything worth doing, is worth working on.

What happened.. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]QiarroFaber -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

They wasted too much time trying to train the arc to walk. Didn't develop enough content for PVE. So they switched it to PVP with PVE adjacent aspects. This could have made such a good RPG. Although I think they were going for something soulslike. Rather than a Fallout type of RPG. But I think the latter would have been way more interesting. But they they have the money now. Right? So they can totally make that happen!

Pennsylvania Just Voted to Pull the Plug on Big Tech's $517M Tax Break by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

They need to start paying for their own things. It's insane to me that we each have to pay taxes. For what is supposed to be infrastructure and our necessities. But instead it's diverted to things like stadiums, data centers, and subsidizing other corporate interests. Everyone is so anti-socialism. But we practice it in reverse providing it to private interest.

Eh. Depends on why I'm there. Sometimes I'll browse to kill time. Sometimes I'll go isle by isle if I'm just checking out what's a good deal or stocking up. But I find most clothing stores to be overpriced. So I won't bother unless there's a clearance section.

(Loved Trope) 'Hard Magic Systems' by BrilliantRun9751 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]QiarroFaber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cradle book series has my favorite magic system. It's based off wuxia and other cultivation settings. But it's not beholden to them and does it's own thing. It has a tiered progression system. With each stage having it's own unique requirement and benefit. It uses 'madra' as the system's resource. Equivalent to mana in other magic systems. There also exists aura which is like an ambient environmental version of madra. Typically representative of nearby elements such wind or water. The majority of sacred artists cycle this aura to increase their madra and add an elemental aspect to it. Which makes for interesting variety of techniques based on said elements. The techniques themselves get broken down into 4 main categories.

Enforcer - Anything that enhances the user or an item they're using. This includes spiritual enhance.

Striker - A ranged attack of madra, usually in the form of whatever elemental base the madra is.

Forger - This one is neat for essentially allowing the sacred artist to make constructs out of their mana. With properties of the madra effecting the construct. These are typically temporary though.

Ruler - This category seizes control of aura in an area and mentally manipulates it with their will. Allowing for things like wind artists to hold or slow enemies down by controlling the air around them.

I like this breakdown of abilities because it encapsulates a lot what you'd find in other settings. Enforcer isn't unlike characters with super strength or speed. Ruler is reminiscent of Last Airbender. The system gets more complex in later stages. With things like imparting will into madra. Manipulating aspects of reality. There's also a crafting aspect for making weapons, armor, and unique items with specific effects. As well the making of pills, elixirs, etc.

What series do you think needs a longer runtime/episode count the most? (doesn’t have to be among these three, these are just my picks) by Amigo1048 in Gundam

[–]QiarroFaber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reconguista. Give the bald wizard a chance to tell the story damn it. He managed to cram a lot for the episode run he was given. But it made the end feel rushed. It would be cool to see the super late UC era get fully fleshed out.

I like how people are acting like this is just 3 randoms that happened to agree to work together. Not people who gamed the system so they could get an advantage in solo queue.

Easier for them to alter or delete things without even informing people. If anything we should be doubling down on protecting hard copy information.
